James Toney weight question

Post by goose 5 »

As a teenage amateur, Toney fought at 156 pounds. However, he claims to have played high school football at 205 pounds. Does this make any sense ?

Toney was a 156 pound amateur in 1987-long past his 13th birthday; he was born in 1968.

He wasn't a teenager at 19.

Eh? If have no idea about Toney's weights at that time but what does the teen in nineteen mean then?

Lol, perhaps I'm off. I just always view teenager 13-16.

Essentially, what I'm asking is could Toney have boxed as a golden glover at 156 pounds and then played ball at 205 during the same year ? The Gloves end around late March-early April and football would start in September, or maybe even late August. Plus, he supposedly did this for 3 straight years.

Yes, I've already been corrected on the obvious numerical bracket. I was just saying the main mentions of teenagers are not 18 and 19 year olds.

Really? I've read up and down the thread and other than my own post can't find a mention of nineteen still having teen in it and being a teenager. Hmm......

Could have been taking them in the timeframe the op is asking about. My small hs had dozens of guys juicing mid 80's, some just for more pussy. If I have to try and pinpoint I'd say the run to jirov.

Good question, I don't have the answer, but an interesting point no one has brought up is that teenage refers to the ages that end in "teen" and so nineteen is in fact teenage.
