Next opponent for Canelo at 168 lbs? Saunders, Callum Smith or maybe Benavidez?
Assuming Canelo goes back to 168 lbs, what opponent he'd choose? Canelo has that 'regular' wba smw belt and Callum is the 'full' wba champion. That would make sense for a fight between Canelo and Callum.

Saul Canelo Alvarez has vacated his WBA ‘regular’ super middleweight title, according to Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.
WBA ‘Gold’ 168-lb champion Lennox Allen will be fighting for the vacant WBA ‘regular’ super middleweight title, and he wants John Ryder to face him for the belt.
Hearn wants Ryder to face Lennox Allen for Canelo’s WBA 168-lb title
“The WBA ‘regular’ title, which is held by Canelo, is now vacant, Lennox Allen has been put forward as the WBA Gold champion. John, in my opinion, should be ordered to fight,” said Eddie Hearn to Matchroom Boxing.

Ok. Didn't know. Anyway Callum is still the 'super' WBA and the WBC 'diamond' smw champion so Canelo could fight him.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑29 Nov 2019, 13:38 Saul Canelo Alvarez has vacated his WBA ‘regular’ super middleweight title, according to Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.

Re: Next opponent for Canelo at 168 lbs? Saunders, Callum Smith or maybe Benavidez?
It's a pity bc it would've been an intriguing fight.
Re: Next opponent for Canelo at 168 lbs? Saunders, Callum Smith or maybe Benavidez?
If Canelo vacated, he probably won't fight at this weight. Anyway that's the least interesting weight for him. GGG III would be more interesting, than any of SMW bouts. I wonder, if Canelo really had enough balls to stay at the LHW and try to unify.
Re: Next opponent for Canelo at 168 lbs? Saunders, Callum Smith or maybe Benavidez?
Anybody he could fight is more interesting than GGG 3.
GGG has already beaten him twice, and been shown he CAN'T win even when he wins. Why do we need to see that a 3rd time?

DAZN's stable also has Saunders and Andrade. But Saunders, Andrade or Callum can't bring the buys of a Canelo vs Golovkin third fight. So in terms of business wise Golovkin could be the only option.

That would be a big statement from Canelo. Bivol and then Beterbiev.

or the fact that he was the regular champion.
Re: Next opponent for Canelo at 168 lbs? Saunders, Callum Smith or maybe Benavidez?
I would like to see GGG-Andrade and Alvarez - Derevyanchenko

Re: Next opponent for Canelo at 168 lbs? Saunders, Callum Smith or maybe Benavidez?
Those two bouts were very exciting. The third one can be as well. Furthermore, maybe Golovkin will be more desperate in the 3rd bout acknowledging the fact of having absolutely no chances of decision victory after not a one robbery, but two.
Re: Next opponent for Canelo at 168 lbs? Saunders, Callum Smith or maybe Benavidez?
The 2nd one was exciting.
I don't care if it's a good fight or not. If it's not legit I don't want to see it. These fights are frauds. I won't willingly pay or even take the time to watch a fraudulent sporting event.

Re: Next opponent for Canelo at 168 lbs? Saunders, Callum Smith or maybe Benavidez?
GGG vs Canelo 2 was basically the exact same fight as Smith vs Ryder
Big guy with huge size advantage getting walked down and beat up.
Funny thing is fans are totally outraged Ryder didn't get the win but gggtard fans still think he was robbed.
It really is just a popularity contest.
As bad as the judges can be fan boys are absolutely no better.

I didn't see Smith vs Ryder. I did see Canelo vs GGG 2. I'll readily admit that Canelo did significantly better in the 2nd fight than he did in the 1st, but he still didn't win it IMO.james5000+ wrote: ↑29 Nov 2019, 15:50 GGG vs Canelo 2 was basically the exact same fight as Smith vs Ryder

I would've had no issue with the draw in this bout, but I knew they'd give it to him because they gave him a draw he CLEARLY lost the 1st time around so a narrow loss or an actual draw he'd get.
I call 'em as I see 'em. No bias in my scoring.

I never wanted GGG vs Canelo 1 or 2 but I do want 3
A) Canelo absolutely retires him and GGG fans can finally admit he isn't invincible. Ffs he did deserve the win in 1 but he got 2 gifts against Jacobs and Derevyanchenko.
B) Saunders/Smith/Boo boo all need to fight. If they fight each other some one is losing a belt.
Prefer Booboo to whoop Saunders and Ryder to get revenge on Smith

The knockdown got him the win vs Jacobs. I never saw the Derevyanchenko fight so I can't comment on that. I don't think anyone thinks GGG is invincible at this point certainly. Similarly to Kovalev his boxing skill was often overlooked as he was seen as a puncher and nothing more. He's a great boxer/puncher, but he's getting up there in years now, and is wearing down. Lotta miles on him now.james5000+ wrote: ↑29 Nov 2019, 15:56 I never wanted GGG vs Canelo 1 or 2 but I do want 3

I was fairly excited to see Smith fight Canelo, but after his performance vs Ryder I really don't care. Benavidez would be somewhat interesting.

He just wanted to survive, barely threw a punch that wasn't a jab. Jab is the hardest punch to counter, he was so scared of getting countered he didn't throw anything else

Well Canelo would undoubtedly win controversy free in the 3rd fight. They screwed GGG twice, and now Father Time will do the rest for 'em if they ever fight a 3rd time.james5000+ wrote: ↑29 Nov 2019, 16:01He beat him up and GGG had no answer. We'll agree to disagree on the 2nd fight. It was a close fight. Not a Canelo win in my view. He did better than the 1st fight without question. I won't say he won.

GGG 3 would lose a fortune. All canelo fights will now, but ggg has his own huge contract.apollo creed wrote: ↑29 Nov 2019, 14:18 DAZN's stable also has Saunders and Andrade. Canelo will not allow DAZN to do that, at least with his fights, in the future.
"I will not allow them to do that, at least for my fights. I will talk to them [DAZN], " Canelo told ESPN Deportes.
"I don't want to fight him [GGG]. For me he doesn't represent [a challenge] anymore," said Canelo. " I have other goals too, I already gave him 24 rounds and that's it. "
So Golovkin III is out of the question for Canelo. Callum looked pretty vulnerable and he may be on Canelo's radar.

A third fight between Canelo and Golovkin definitely isn't "out of the question", because he has consistently claimed that he’d face Golovkin again if the public want it and the money is right, despite him conceding his disinterest in sharing the ring again with the Kazakh.apollo creed wrote: ↑30 Nov 2019, 09:06 Canelo will not allow DAZN to do that, at least with his fights, in the future.

Put it this way, if DAZN are going to pay Canelo $35m per bout, regardless whomever he fights, then there’s no motivation to face GGG again.
