;-) I got a bit carried away.
I stuck a bottle of mrs butterworth in the fridge. It took 2 minutes to start pouring.
That reminded me of Joe Joyce
Yeah, she is even slower than Aunt Jemima, and she is much faster than Joyce.

Joshua will win. I’m amazed the betting line is so low. -200. He was -3000 the fight fight. Bettors are stupid. What happened in that fight was obvious. One, he took him lightly. Two, he got really sloppy going for the KO after the knockdown and got hit behind the ear which shut his legs off the rest of the fight. It was a fluke.

Why would anyone watching boxing who is not a boxing fan cheer on another fighter from another country, who they know nothing about?

Same thing in most international sports - football, rugby, league, cricket, basketball etc. most casuals would support their local team/players.

You know its strange..

The poll on the Ruiz-AJ thread in the CS favours AJ and the poll on the B&I section favours Ruiz..

Anthony Joshua was serving community service in 2011 for a drug dealing offence, gifted controversial decision victories in the amateurs against the likes of Roberto Cammarelle and Erislandy Savón that allowed him to claim a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics and has enjoyed extremely privileged career ever since.

I personally don’t really like or dislike AJ, but when he says things such as “when I beat [Ruiz Jr.], I want everyone to bow to my feet to tell me how great I am”, then it’s kind of challenging to truly support the man, because it means that he’s been faking his “humble” public persona all along… and a lot of people don’t like that.

Diddy - do you see AJ by decision or late stoppage as more likely? I’ve bet on decision as Ruiz is a tough customer. I have a hedge on the championship rounds.

Boxing doesn't really work like that for me. Especially as it's such an individual sport.

Yeah sometimes I'll get behind someone from my country if they excite me as a fighter and I like them like Josh Taylor recently for example.

But generally it's about the fighter rather than the country they are from.
Same for me, love to see good matchups and good fights, a nice backstory might get me rooting for some one but don’t care where they’re from.

OK.

They should start some sort of club. Like, boxing debate for cretins or something.

Wasn’t Anthony Joshua born in Watford and raised somewhere else in London, with his father being British and grandfather half Irish/half Jamaican?

Their own forum for Wilder bashing would clear up space.

He was born in Watford and his mum and Dad are Nigerian. There’s some Irish in there somewhere supposedly. To me, he’s Black British which means basically he’s English (because the English, despite being much maligned, are the only British people to accept that they are not a homogenous culture and are continually evolving racially and culturally, whereas the Irish Scottish and Welsh are all pretty much stuck in the past and have a sentimental idealised sense of national identity very much rooted in their white past-perhaps a discussion for off topic). So he can identify as Nigerian and British and English, whatever he wants really.

why would we have nobody to watch ?

Maybe we would have nobody to cheer on .. IF Wilder chins Fury , then AJ , Whyte

IF is one of those funny words though isnt it .

My inclination is Joshua fights "long" and gets behind the jab in an effort to avoid a war. I would lean toward a decision win.

That’s what I would “prefer” as well. But Ruiz is apparently in good shape this time around despite destroying Joshua while being horribly deconditioned last time. And Fury basically outboxed wilder in their fight. Last time he was clowning a bit and got decked twice. My thinking is he’ll likely be more careful in the rematch.

If Ruiz was in really good shape he'd be under 200 lbs and I think wilder had a compromised right the first time. That being said Ruiz and fury winning wouldn't surprise me a bit

I suppose anything is possible. The real trick is getting the winners of these fights to actually meet.

I’m calling a controversial decision win for AJ whereby Ruiz is the aggressor and out lands AJ but Ruiz is not skilled enough to befriend Hearn.

That's exactly what I thought. Still a dangerous fight. But if Ruiz let's his hand's go like he says, it could be over fast. Anthony looks real good in training.
