Re: Crawford: "Frustrating Not To Face PBC Fighters, Nothing I Can Do"
Exactly. Not that complicated. It's obvious who wants the fight and who doesn't. All these PBC guys won't even fight each other. We still haven't seen;
Spence Thurman
Spence D. Garcia
Pacquiao Spence
Pacquiao Porter
D. Garcia M. Garcia
These guys struggle to even fight themselves.
Re: Crawford: "Frustrating Not To Face PBC Fighters, Nothing I Can Do"
They are able to make similar money fighting each other when compared to fight in house so they will do that until fighting Crawford will offer more money.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 21:07Exactly. Spence Thurman - we may never see that one.
Spence D. Garcia - most likely would have been this spring if it wasn't for Spence's accident.
Pacquiao Spence - probably would have been middle to late 2020
Pacquiao Porter - may get that in 2020 because of the delay caused by Spence timeline pushback.
D. Garcia M. Garcia - also may becoming in 2020
But see, you made the case with this post. With so much in-house fights, why look at Crawford anytime soon?

If only he could have known that signing with a promotion that has no fighters in his weight class wouldnt end well... poor poor tc

Anyone else see any bit of hypocrisy here? Which is it? Up to the boxer or the promotor? I've mentioned this before. It seems to be up to the promoter when they want it to be, We used to see it all the time with Pacquiao and others.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 07:53 Crawford: I'm The Best at 147 - I'll Fight All of Those PBC Guys
According to WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford, he is ready and willing to fight any of the boxers in his division - who are currently competing under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.
“I’m willing to fight all those guys, but it’s not up to me to decide if I’m going to fight them or if I’m not going to fight them. I’m open to fighting all those guys. I’ve been saying that from Day 1. Nothing has changed. I’m the best fighter in the division and I’m always willing to prove it,” Crawford told The Los Angeles Times.
“Bob is willing to make any fight happen. At the end of the day, it’s not up to Bob. It’s up to me. The fighters are the ones that fight, and without us, there’s no promotion. So if a fighter really wants a fight to happen, he can make it happen. You can tell them, ‘Listen, this is the fight I want and I’m not fighting until I get that fight.’ It’s simple. At the end of the day, they work for us. If we don’t fight, nobody is going to get paid, so they have to make the fights that the fighters want.”
Crawford, who won a world title at lightweight and unified the entire division at 140, wants to unite all four of the major titles at welterweight.
“I still want to be the undisputed welterweight champion of the world,” Crawford said, “and I believe I’ll be the first to be undisputed in two divisions, back-to-back. I just want to leave a mark on the sport of boxing so people talk about me like they talk about the other great champions before me. That’s my goal before I retire.”
Edit: I'm a huge Crawford fan, but after I heard him claim Danny Garcia was ducking him without making him an offer before the Khan fight, I wonder how bad he wants PBC boxers. I hope someone can explain to me why I'm wrong. Danny G said he didn't even get a call.

Not as far as I remember. When he fought Burns, Hearn stated if he won, he would co-promote his next fight, which was already definitely gonna be Crawford for all the belts.
Indongo won and Matchroom co-promoted Crawford vs. Indongo. Never was there ever a mention of PBC.

Like Crawford's boxing style but he doesn't fight anyone what can I tell you.

We won't see cross-promotional events headlined by marquee names from rival networks appear on ESPN, unless mega-money is involved. And Top Rank have to actually initiate negotiations (or at least agree to participate in them) in order to make the big fights happen.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 20:39They shouldn't, and they didn't until now...and it only comes up as an excuse. Please don’t dishonestly pretend that political barriers don’t exist in the sport of boxing.
And don’t dishonestly pretend that citing exceptions dismisses the existence of the general rule.
We might occasionally see a few exceptions, such as DAZN or PBC fighters appearing on ESPN if they’re low-cost unheralded names that Top Rank can easily afford, such as Felix Diaz.
I’ve repeated the same general rule over-and-over again to this forum and I’m not the only person aware of it. Do you need me to quote some of my posts conveying the above rule to remind you of my consistent explanations?
Also, I don’t see any mention of Julius Indongo’s name listed on the PBC website and nor any other websites claiming him to have any working relationship with Al Haymon.
In terms of Terence Crawford’s business ties with ESPN/Top Rank either preventing or seriously restricting the possibility of him engaging in bouts against the PBC stable of fighters, this has already been well-documented by many reputable sources.
Even Terence Crawford and Bob Arum have corroborated the existence of the same political barriers.
Your assertion is simply due to a knowledge gap on your part.

Re: Crawford: "Frustrating Not To Face PBC Fighters, Nothing I Can Do"
One of the my biggest issues with the sport of boxing is the politics and the lack of crossover promotional fights between marquee names. Unfortunately it's been this way for a long time and it will more than likely not change in the near future.
It would be a shame if Crawford didn't fight any of the top names in his division (I personally believe He's the best WW in the world). Although it would be disappointing, it's hard not to put most of the blame on Crawford and Arum due to the fact Crawford needs to mix it up with the PBC guys, where as the PBC fighters can fight among each other without having to deal with all the other headaches that involve planning a big fight when the fighters fight under 2 different promotions/networks.
IMO it's Crawford/Arum/ESPN and TR that are the ones that should realize they're not in the drivers seat in this situation and are the ones that need to be more open minded when it comes to their fighter(Crawford) fighting under a different promotion and network and allow PBC to control the bulk of what ever it takes to get Crawford in the ring with their fighters. I'm not saying allow PBC to low ball Crawford, but something has to give and the fact is, Crawfords side in not in the drivers seat.

Arum has a tidy ESPN budget and Crawford has a high guarantee, higher than he would have gotten with the PBC.NateJR wrote: ↑04 Dec 2019, 12:04 One of the my biggest issues with the sport of boxing is the politics and the lack of crossover promotional fights between marquee names. So they signed with a promoter that regularly run cross-promotions, rather than the closed-shop? Crawford could have signed with the PBC and faced PBC fighters.
Instead he chose the pay cheque. He has no credible opponents to face.
And you’re accusing the PBC guys of being “duckers”? Seriously!?!
