Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
I am just having my afternoon brew watching the weigh in on mute...
Ruiz - 283lb - How has he with a full training camp come in this heavy?
Have you guys changed your thoughts about the bout after the weigh in?

The debate is ongoing in the existing Ruiz/Joshua thread. Do we really have to fragment threads like the sanctioning bodies fragment the titles!!

would it make a difference,it's not like he was slim last time,Joshua was ripped and got ko'd.kbackup408 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 09:54 I am just having my afternoon brew watching the weigh in on mute...

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
It's OK. The more snickers Ruiz had, the stronger he is. Time for the repeat.
Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
I'm definitely swaying towards AJ now aye. That weight gain from last time shows a lack of professionalism and now it just seems like it's a cash out imo. We will find out tomorrow but i feel a bit deflated after that weigh in.

You always get the correct word pal - deflated sums the feeling up I am not sure why he would come in this heavy!
Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
Was looking forward to a good competitive fight and him coming in that heavy and the rumours of his training and diet makes you feel as if he's not taking it serious and is there for a pay day. I wasn't buying it anyway but i'll probably not even bother going to the pub now tbh... I hope i'm wrong and he repeats what he done last time but i have my doubts now...kbackup408 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 10:17You always get the correct word pal - deflated sums the feeling up I am not sure why he would come in this heavy!

grab a drink and watch it mate might be worth seeing Ruiz get slapped around the ring for 36minsStuarty wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 10:22Was looking forward to a good competitive fight and him coming in that heavy and the rumours of his training and diet makes you feel as if he's not taking it serious and is there for a pay day. Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
Could it be a ploy and he had weights in his shorts ...
Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
I'm out with kids so i was hoping i'd be back in time to catch main event. Mrs is driving so i might get her to drop me at pub on my way home but i'll see how i feel tomorrow lol. I was wanting a Ruiz win as well....kbackup408 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 10:30grab a drink and watch it mate might be worth seeing Ruiz get slapped around the ring for 36minsStuarty wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 10:22

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
It's odd certainly.
Must favour AJ, mustn't it ?
Maybe Ruiz has just 'got his number' and it won't matter, or make him get a KO quicker, but..,
It favours AJ doesn't it.
discuss.

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
This is madness. So we have Joshua 10 lighter than the first fight and his lightest since 2014 and Ruiz is more or less a career heaviest at 283lbs. I feel Joshua is too light and Ruiz has weighed too heavy, even for him. wow! Seems like Ruiz is banking on walking through Joshua and ko'ing him before he runs out of steam. What do you think?
Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
I think AJ had got too big - more body-builder than boxer and he looks great.Muttley wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 11:03This is madness. He shouldn't (no HW should) go up and up and up. Half a stone up-and-down for tactics is a good, but no more.
AJ - should improve a bit.
Ruiz..,
Maybe it's "a get inside his head thing" but it can't be good. It's simply too big for a guy of that height. It can't be good, unless it IS weights in the shorts. In which case it's very clever.

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
The thing is this,at what weight would Ruiz be at his peak ?,he has always been very fat,his stamina has not been an issue so maybe an extra stone will make no difference, after all he was well over weight for his best ever performance wasn't he ?

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
It probably won't make a difference but I think AJ being lighter will certainly make him more dangerous.
Also heard the ring is going to be bigger so will help AJ float around!

Andy is a lifelong fatty. Used to be 300 and his weights are all over. I don't doubt at all he could put that much weight on in a few months, esp if he started living the 'high life'

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
At some point the human body can't take the fat and starts to drop in performance. He is now 30 and 20 pounds or so heavier than we've ever seen him vs anyone good, he could still win but I certainly wouldn't have much confidence that he can simply be however fat he wants and still perform at the same level
I wonder about his actual training too. Was he still hitting the gym and training as much as usual? Because that could be just as important as the numbers. All that extra weight sounds like he got a bit indulgent and maybe complacent?
Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
I was thinking he has Buster Douglas syndrome, when BD beat mike tyson his next outing was against the real deal and he was that fat he literally rolled over. I had ruiz to win this but after that showing on the scales i dont think he can.
Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
If he wins again he must be some type of machine. I think its crazy that there were all these pictures showing his "weight loss"
Total BS. Unless he fell off the wagon in the second half of training camp

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
I'm the same as you. Rahman was the same wasn't he? After he beat Lewis he enjoyed the high life a little too much before the rematch and got blown away...

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
Obviously Lennox on his game is way way way better than Rahman, but Rahman gets underrated these days. Beat Lennox, should've prob had 2 wins over Tua and was totally schooling him the first time, knocked out Corrie 'God' Sanders, and won pretty comfortably over B level HWs of his day like Barrett, Meehan, Sullivan, etc. He was a very solid HW with a good long jab and a heavy right hand, not just some lucky journeyman type, he wouldve beat fat Andy imo.
Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
Interesting thing is in the first fight Ruiz weighed in just his pants at 268lbs. this time he weighed in at 283lbs with shorts, t shirt and sombrero. A couple of discret weights on his person and the weight goes up. wouldn't be the first time this has been done. He may even of had trainers on as well.

Re: Has Ruiz lost the fight at the scale?
More likely he just porked out and got fatter
Plus why give AJ more confidence?
