True. I still thought he moved better than he usually does though.oogiebe wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:13Even at 246 he would've looked light on his feet vs jabba the hut.Nondescript wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:12 That seems like Joshua's ideal weight. Light on his feet and moves well at that weight.

No he can’t he’d have to weigh more and go for power, which I think he would to be fairGrilling Machine wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:12 Sky pundits calling it a masterclass, and it was, but against a version of Ruiz that doesn't figure in the elite scene. Can AJ do that against Wilder, is the next question we're all wondering about.

Well done AJ, Ruiz blew it coming in so heavy, only success he had was when AJ got sloppy and too eager.

Nasty KO?
He was stopped on his feet wasn’t he?
Listening to the radio it sounded pretty one sided and Joshua executing his game plan and not letting Ruiz in. Didn’t sound hugely exciting.

I think Wilder would have a field day with the Ruiz of tonight. Would be a sitting duck.polecateddy wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:14 Bet Ruiz never wins another fight in world class. Journeyman!

Not really. AJ did what he had to do, fair play. Ruiz needed to weigh two stone less, he couldn’t get close at that weight, shame

No, thank god. I thought all along he would bash Joshua, until the weigh in, where I switched to AJ points. He was just too fat to do anything.

Why would he have to weigh more? It would be better if he was more of an elusive target against Wilder than resorting back to being a flat footed plodder.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:15No he can’t he’d have to weigh more and go for power, which I think he would to be fairGrilling Machine wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:12 Sky pundits calling it a masterclass, and it was, but against a version of Ruiz that doesn't figure in the elite scene. Listening to the press on the week I was shocked to hear Ruiz was coming on heavier. Thought then he was underestimating Joshua.

It was quite a tentative performance from both men. Ruiz workrate was abysmal. Joshua did what he had to do, got caught a few times but no man was hurt. Fckin boring fight really.

Thankfully watched on a DAZN stream with no sound, Joshua boxed as I expected and did what he had to do..really disappointed with Ruiz however.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:12 Sky pundits calling it a masterclass, and it was, but against a version of Ruiz that doesn't figure in the elite scene. Very good performance from Joshua.
Ruiz whole camp need to take a look at themselves - Amateur hour.

Andy, you do NOT deserve a rematch.
You coulda won that and fought Wilder for $10m

He’s not Mayweather, he can’t dance for 12 rounds vs Wilder but he can knock anyone out. He’d have to train for power vs Wilder. He’s defence isn’t amazing Wilder would catch him eventually and AJ has a suspect him. It will be a case of having to get to Wilder first, which is possibleNondescript wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:17Why would he have to weigh more? 119-110 for me, at risk of sounding like a casual I thought it was a bit of a masterclass from Joshua there, the fight played out how I thought it would if he got his tactics spot on and he did get them spot on, there was a couple of times he tried to punch his way out of the inside and he did look vulnerable I thought but he got away with it tonight, they were the only times Ruiz had any real success and he did look dangerous but it wasn't nowhere near enough, mostly Joshua kept him at bay with the jab which I thought was excellent, best ive seen it , he threw it every round and it was hurtful looking jab and it busted Ruiz up
Nothing wrong with Joshua's stamina either, boxed on his toes all night, kept calm , worked the lead left hook well, drilled Ruiz with some big right hands, Ruiz never looked badly hurt but did get stiffened in the 1st when Joshua bust his eye open, not a classic but it was absorbing, Ruiz looked like he'd threaten to let his hands go but mostly his feet were too slow to get in range, I'm glad to see Joshua win , its better for the division IMO, respect

I agree I said earlier on that AJs stamina problems come from being too tense. He stayed calmhandsofstone wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 18:20 119-110 for me, at risk of sounding like a casual I thought it was a bit of a masterclass from Joshua there, the fight played out how I thought it would if he got his tactics spot on and he did get them spot on, there was a couple of times he tried to punch his way out of the inside and he did look vulnerable I thought but he got away with it tonight, they were the only times Ruiz had any real success and he did look dangerous but it wasn't nowhere near enough, mostly Joshua kept him at bay with the jab which I thought was excellent, best ive seen it , he threw it every round and it was hurtful looking jab and it busted Ruiz up
