Good chance of beating Wilder fighting like that.

God I hope not, that was a very good boxing performance, but awful to watch
Re: AJ’s ‘new’ style. Here to stay?
He isn’t a good enough boxer to beat wilder over 12. Better fighters have tried and lost. AJ needs to land big first.
Re: AJ’s ‘new’ style. Here to stay?
I would imagine he'll continue to fight like this against most guys yeah as it'd probably be more effective, and less dangerous. Won't result is as many early rounds KO's, but will usually put him in less danger. AJ isn't really as mobile or as effective as Wlad with this though so even though he's attempting it he's not really as good at it.
He was aided in looking good with it tonight by Ruiz being 283 pounds, and not particularly mobile. The significantly lighter and faster Wilder will not be so easy to outmanuever, and I don't figure this would be the best strategy against Fury either. I think you'd wanna attack more against him, and box less as he's probably the slicker boxer of the two, but he damn sure ain't the stronger.

I'm looking forward to AJ vs Hughie
Re: AJ’s ‘new’ style. Here to stay?
Not his new style. I'd say he's added another deminsion to his game. I have to give it to him, I didn't think he could pull this off in this manner. He even got a second wind around the ninth.
Re: AJ’s ‘new’ style. Here to stay?
That was his best performance. Composed, fast and smart.

Wilder's right is too long and fast for that style to work. He probably needs to jump on Wilder like Lewis did Grant and get him out of there before he has time and space to unleash.
Re: AJ’s ‘new’ style. Here to stay?
For some time I've believed an AJ v Wilder bout would come down to who ever landed big first.

With the methodical approach Joshua will be more likely to avoid Wilder's right hand. I'd pick the current version of Joshua over Wilder.
Re: AJ’s ‘new’ style. Here to stay?
What AJ just did with Ruiz is by far no reflection of how that would work for him vs Wilder. AJ is no Fury. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Lewis always jumped on guys bigger than him. Did it vs Akinwande and Klit, would no doubt have done it vs Grant but yes you're right MG beat him too it

Fury produces that tonight and people wank themselves off a cliff. Mickey would be in hospital having his cock reattached after that if the gypsy king had done that to Ruiz.
He got the job done, and won with ease. Problem is, he should never be losing to the likes of Ruiz jnr. The destroyer really isn’t very good
Re: AJ’s ‘new’ style. Here to stay?
A hungry skint ruiz Jr was a lot more dangerous than I've got a few mill in the bank ruiz jr

I've probably had 4 too many Coronas but imagine if Canelo gets on the magic tacos and hits our boy AJ to the body.
Viva La Mexico, vamos!

Re: AJ’s ‘new’ style. Here to stay?
Oh loads of people said he's a fat c*nt anyway, he'll absorb the punches better and hit harder. Put it to bed. TFKOB looked f*cking useless tonight and it just adds more credence to the theory that Joshua got greedy on his American debut after he put Jabba over and was too eager to impress, failing to take into account Ruiz's chin and fast hands.
All rectified now. Let's see Fury Wilder 2.
Then all the marbles in Summer.
