If this does come off, i for one will be more than happy.
1. If - and its a big IF- Woods beats Johnson, then Calzaghe will be more inclined to fight Woods, which would be good for us.
2. Clinton has a great chance of reversing his defeat and draw, and also improve his standing in the U.S.
Johnson may have been flattered by his recent results (Jones was shot, the first Tarver fight i thought he lost, and GK Jones has never been the same since he ended the life of another fighter), but if anyone remembers the first two Woods-Johnson fights, then we remember he can fight.

Johnson's done well for himself & would probably given Calzaghe one hell of a fight. I had him beating Tarver in the first fight. It was a very close fight and Tarver was worn down. Johnson was disappointing v Tarver II, but it's no small feat to beat Woods, Jones (who was still p4p rated at the time) & Tarver in one year.
He looked excellent against R Hall and GK Jones, he dominated the B level guys like an elite fighter should be able to. And, he also has wins over Ulrich (in Germany), Owoh (in England), Eric Harding, a robbery loss against Julio Gonzalez.
I'm starting to think Warren and Calzaghe well and truly fucke dhim around , hoping he'd take the fight at late notice and weaken himself to make 168, because Johnson's one of the toughest in the game and his last 4 opponents have been southpaws
That said, I'm excited by Woods' improvement & I have faith in his ability to pull off a memorable win
I can't wait for this one

It's a good match. A linear match.

King can't put anything together for Adamek. Or won't. What a waste. Used to be King put his quality fighters on undercards. Now he just leaves them to hang out to dry. Should be bloody ashamed of himself.Axe wrote:Great fight for Clinton! On the other hand, too bad King couldnt put this together for Tomasz Adamek.
Would be the same for Karmazin, but hey King wants to sell out St Louis so he chose him as a foe for Cory Spinks. If Golota was around I'll bet Adamek would get decent undercard title fights. Isn't that a disgrace
Yeah the arena should be big enough, the Hallam FM Arena, Woods fought Julio Gonzalez & Hatton fought Maussa at this destination, think it holds about 12,000 people which to be fair i doubt Woods would sell that many tickets.Max Molyneux wrote:Hope they have it somewere where a lot of tickets are being sold.
Does Sheffield have a big enough arena?
A total one, Adamek is 50 times the fighter that Golota is. Rumour has it that Golota will be attempting yet another (ill fated, to be sure) comeback, so maybe TA will get some action...I just hope he can break away from his contract with King already.viciousmaussa wrote:King can't put anything together for Adamek. Adamek's an excellent fighter. He's a young, strong fighter with tremendous grit and a pulverising jab. His win over Briggs was one of the best fights of 2005, and Briggs is possibly the hardest hitter at light heavy, a massively underrated Oz who had to win 2 WBC elimsjamesmcdonnell wrote:50 times the fighter! Based on what, you make him sound like he's a living Legend. Golota had his flaws, but on his best day he was a good heavyweightl, ask Riddick Bowe. He never seemed the same after those two Bowe fights though, don't know what went wrong mentally after that.
Golota is a disgrace, a failure, a waste of time
really good fight, you have to respect the way that woods has conducted himself as a champion you don't get the feeling he is sherking any challengers and he doesn't fcuk the fans around a la calzaghe.
Btw sorry if Im being thick but whitch fighter did Johnson kill? I couldn't see it on his record was it in the ring?

I think King can no longer afford to pay his fighters, that is why he has headline events with poor undercards now. He got burnt in the past putting on monstrous fight cards with 4 or even 6 world title fights. I've heard some rumours he has serious cash flow problems.Axe wrote:A total one, Adamek is 50 times the fighter that Golota is. I think he's got so many fighters he doesn't know what to do with them. he pretty much owns the whole cruiser division (apart from Bell) and never puts any bleeding fights onjamesmcdonnell wrote:I think King can no longer afford to pay his fighters, that is why he has headline events with poor undercards now. No , you see it was Johnson who beat George Khalid Jones who faught a guy named a called Beethaeven Scottland and Scottland died of injuries from that fight . That's why people are saying Jones wasn't the same after that .josh fg wrote:.Btw sorry if Im being thick but whitch fighter did Johnson kill? I couldn't see it on his record was it in the ring?

Its not that Adamek is that good, its that Golota was that bad...when it mattered most, of course.jamesmcdonnell wrote:50 times the fighter! I don't understand this, if he can stand toe to toe with someone who hits as hard as Briggs and wins then why would Woods stop him? And since when was brawling but winning a bad thing? Would you say Calzaghe had to brawl to beat Brewer?Haha Adamek had to brawl his way to beat Briggs, he trys that would Woods and Woods Ko's him.

I just think Woods counter punching would beat Adamek.
