AJ and McCracken demonstrated that they are the ultimate boxer-training partnership on Saturday. Time spent preparing physically and mentally clearly paid off. Melts may criticise the strategy for being 'boring' but they were the same casuals mugging AJ off for getting in a war in New York.
Great to see AJ bring the belts back to Britain where they belong and surely it won't be too long before he takes Wilder's as well.

Re: AJ/McCracken British masterclass
When Anthony Joshua compared his knockout of Wladimir Klitschko to Tyson Fury’s points win against the former long-reigning champ:
“Fury boxed twelve rounds and ran,” Joshua said.
“I don’t respect that. If I’m the King of Dubai in the olden days and a different empire comes to take my territory, you don’t come and steal my treasure. That’s what Fury’s done, he stole the belts from Klitschko in the sense that he just boxed and moved. I know it’s the ‘art of boxing’ but I always said you come to slay the king. You look him in the face and you take what’s his.”

Yeah Hearn has often had a go at Fury's style and tactics as well. Now he'll be blowing smoke up AJs arse and calling that performance a masterclass blah blah blah! Some nerve on him! Ruiz was a disgrace and AJ done what he had to do.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑09 Dec 2019, 08:03 When Anthony Joshua compared his knockout of Wladimir Klitschko to Tyson Fury’s points win against the former long-reigning champ:

Re: AJ/McCracken British masterclass
To be fair, Fury sneaked past Wlad, fiddling and being awkward. It was no masterclass despite people attempting to change history in that one. Joshua at least won 10/11 rounds against Ruiz.
Still, Ruiz ain’t no Wlad of course!
Neither approach was incorrect. All about getting the result

Re: AJ/McCracken British masterclass
agree , and would add that AJ & co had a lot more at stake in this fight than Fury probably ever has had so far money wise .lillywhite14 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2019, 09:13 To be fair, Fury sneaked past Wlad, fiddling and being awkward. plus plenty of ex pros and boxing " experts " openly suggesting that if he loses badly again that will be the end of the big money fights .
Now that he has the belts back it shifts some of the power back to the UK away from PBC et al .

As long as AJ is delving into global history to bash Fury, maybe we should remind him of the old Chinese proverb "He who lives in glass house should not throw stones."Enlightened-One wrote: ↑09 Dec 2019, 08:03 When Anthony Joshua compared his knockout of Wladimir Klitschko to Tyson Fury’s points win against the former long-reigning champ:

Bet Hearn is thrilled.
They did good well done, this firm has done so much for world boxing it isn't funny.
For all the verbal jabs and shots that whistle by the Matchroom team throughout the boxing sphere it has to be said they've proven themselves.

Re: AJ/McCracken British masterclass
Perfect strategy for the Ruiz fight but it wouldnt work for a fight against anyone else. They need better plans for the likes of Tyson Fury. Ruiz was a fat piece of lard who had no desire. He didnt take any chances himself to try to get to AJ. 1 trip pony that can only fight one way but when you are carrying half of Mexico in your gut what else could he do? He didnt train, but this is why there is too much money in boxing these days, you only need 1 decent win to set you up for the rest of your life. If boxers were paid a couple of grand a fight you would see a very different athlete.
