Honestly didn't think Anthony Joshua would weigh in at 237.
That blew my socks off.

One round up? I've got it 6-1 AJ. No idea what fight you're watching. Not a tough fight to score.
Come on man, first rule of boxrec, don’t pay attention to EO.
I actually scored the bout 116-112 to Joshua

The reason I scored it a couple of rounds closer than other scorecards, was because at times I felt the Brit was running around a little too much and not putting any power behind his jabs (too negative for my liking), whereas nobody was giving the Mexican credit for repeatedly landing powerful straight right hands to the body.

It’s interesting to see the same people who criticise runners also praise AJ’s strategy last night.

Whilst I was admittedly deeply impressed by AJ’s discipline and execution of his gameplan, there were a couple of rounds where I found the fight unpalatable to watch, simply because of Joshua’s refusal to engage.

I understand the reason why he did it, but I didn’t enjoy watching the bout because of it.

Joshua over-committed to lateral movement and was also too defensive and apprehensive, even though he fought a smart fight.

So, it was a little bit different.............
lol....yes, but that being said, i’ve gotta watch again..... i’m still trying to figure out exactly what I just witnessed. There was no “fight”.... just a “boxing match” with multitudes and multitudes of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
No hard punches, no “real pressure”, no discomfort, they were both as fresh as a daisy afterwards and completely unscathed.

I’m fairly discombobulated right now..... :maybe:
Is this your first shutout that you've seen?

..there was too much at stake for AJ last night..I have no problem with his game plan itself and as well as an execution thereof...

So the jedi mind trick weighted sombrero turned out to be a fatter gut. Who would have thunk it?

Joshua trained to box and move for 12. Hes a pro. Good redemption fight. Ruiz is Buster 2.0 with a better chin.

You scored it wrong. Being generous ruiz won 3 rounds. No way to give him 4

Joshua didnt over commit to lateral movement. He used it perfectly and captain donut couldnt cut him off to engage

The fight wasn't much to watch but there are ways to stop the runner. Training hard and being in good shape is a start

It worked against overweight Ruiz, but Joshua fought scared. That wouldn't work against Wilder or Ortiz.

Giving Ruiz 3 or 4 rounds is definitely generous, that's a pulling for Andy score. Big boi got outboxed easily.

Ortiz couldn't even stop glass-chinned Malik Scott and he's like 400 years old and hasn't scored a notable win in years. He plods just as much as Andy though is a better fighter overall, but I think AJ has already beat better opponents than Andy too.

Unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says a health issue left him "tired" and "drained" in the build-up to his June defeat by Andy Ruiz Jr.

"I had some issue with my health which I was going through for a long time," Joshua told the BBC's Mike Costello.

"I didn't know what was wrong with me. I felt so tired and drained and thought it must be down to training.

"In the changing room before the fight I got a bucket of ice and was putting my head in it thinking 'why do I feel so tired?'

"The responsibilities of being world champion are difficult. All that stuff, feeling so tired, dealing with obligations.

"Now I have energy, I haven't missed a session."

The Briton added: "After my check-ups it showed what the problem was and this is what you have to get sorted.

"Even in this camp I had an operation done but as I'd started training in June I had no issues."

Joshua refused to say what the operation was but it is understood the procedure he had in June was linked to the issue diagnosed after his defeat by Ruiz.

Coming off steroids would explain those symptoms. Would explain the muscle loss and the loss of confidence too. When you fly to USA, you can't bring you gear. Klitschko was always weaker when he fought in America too.

Are there actually official scorecards of this fight? I know the scores were 118-110 (twice) and 119-109.

But it seems to be top secret what rounds the judges scored for Ruiz. Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

I do loss respect for both Hearns and AJ when they make up BS like this. If he had health issues that had great effects his performence don't fight or postpone it or some sh*t.

Then again AJ is the dearling of the UK since he won in the olympics. So nothing new other then some BS around why he lost. AJ got hit by a solid crispy hook to temple and lost his sh*t under the pressure from not getting his focus set and having Ruiz jumped on him and going for the kill since the mexican bull saw that AJ was wimsy.

At least he learned something. Ruiz fcuk'd up.

Yeh. They not been released. Usually when’s it’s a close fight or controversial, someone releases them. The wide decision was perfectly fine in many/all eyes.. so no one has bothered.

When Anthony Joshua compared his knockout of Wladimir Klitschko to Tyson Fury’s points win against the former long-reigning champ:

“Fury boxed twelve rounds and ran,” Joshua said.

I don’t respect that. If I’m the King of Dubai in the olden days and a different empire comes to take my territory, you don’t come and steal my treasure. That’s what Fury’s done, he stole the belts from Klitschko in the sense that he just boxed and moved. I know it’s the ‘art of boxing’ but I always said you come to slay the king. You look him in the face and you take what’s his.

How do people feel about AJ's own words when he criticised other fighters for boxing and running? :-?

Agreed, but he has been known to repeatedly criticise fighters for boxing and running, as per his "slay the king" comments about Tyson Fury.

Also, fight fans criticise fighters for boxing and moving (claiming that fighting style is "boring and cowardly"), but yet many of the same people also applaud AJ’s tactics for the Ruiz Jr. rematch.

The hypocrisy and the application of double-standards are things that should not be ignored.
