Post by MasterG »

These 2 British heavyweight boxers will contest for the English Heavyweight title. Not sure if date has been announced.

Thoughts on this fight?

Wardley stoppage probably

Did Wardo really just have a couple unlicensed fights and that was it before going pro?

This fight would have shown us a fair bit.

As mentioned Wardley has the backing to fight every 6-8 weeks if he wants. Fight in Italy, the US and over here against some decent journeymen and gain some decent experience. It seems to be slowly slowly fight at English and area level every 4 months instead tho.

The very little I’ve seen of Wardley shows he is a physically imposing fighter, with that bit of everything, but he’s a long term project personally. Still young, a couple of years at English and then British level will do him a world of good. Obviously, if he’s showing himself to be too much for the lower level guys, don’t keep him around like Warren’s doing with Dubois, move him forward. No worry of this from Hearn tbh, he pays good for his prospects to get rounds in.
