Who Should Andy Ruiz Fight Next, And What Should His Target Weight Be ?

Post by Seamus »

A fight with Luis Ortiz would be good, and a realistic weight goal would be under 250.

First he should get into a better shape and be more fit. Ortiz, Povetkin, Chisora, Whyte, Rivas. :box:

He’s going to be a gatekeeper from now on, isn’t he?

Daniel Dubois would be interesting.

Hunter would be an entertaining fight. Would probably be fairly easy to make.

Someone with quick hands and a high output.
Someone he really has to train hard for, and will make him work for it.
Then we will know if he has a future.
Kownacki would be my suggestion.

Ortiz is a good shout but i can't see him getting in to decent shape for it. If he can't get motivated defending the titles he's just won for the money he was being paid then i can't see him bothering his arse training hard for a lesser fight for a fraction of the money... He should just retire and eat shite..

Any of the contenders. I really don't care.

Ortiz, Kownacki, Jarrell Miller...whoever.

His target weight should be like 225 pounds which he'll never be anywhere near.

200? :oo

200 what?

200 tons? :D :D

Andy Ruiz's average takeaway weighs 200lbs.

Andy Ruiz will never weigh 200lbs this side of death.

245 would be a good weight and I believe he could reach it. Can't believe some guys are already writing him off as finished. At an obese 283 lbs, Joshua still showed him more respect than any man he's ever faced.

He's not finished, he's just a guy who will almost never get the best out of his abilities because he's too fat and undisciplined to do so.

Getting the upset in the 1st AJ fight was him reaching far beyond any potential I would've ever seen for him so I can't say he won't reach his potential, because he's already done better than that, but he won't get back there anytime soon. Or ever.

Anything over 270 and Andy Ruiz isn't a threat.
Anything over 255 and he is lazy and doesn't care.
If he doesn't care why should we.

Andy wasn't able handle fame and wealth without his boxing taking a slide. He's now infamous and even wealthier. Will the drive to redeem himself be more motivating or will he get sick of the negativity that is boxing and spend his riches in a bid to give his life meaning? Then when its all used up, he'll go back to what he knows, boxing. Because it's all that he knows.

I'm really not sure I'm not a psychologist nor can I read his future. There is one thing I know for certain...Snickers didn't satisfy Andy's craving for food.

He's never had any desire. Dude has pulled out of a handful of fights last minute without giving a reason.
