im hoping some one has this to pop on youtube.
During Matt Skelton's domestic dominance in 2004 he defended the commonwealth against big Bob.
stunning fight, as I remember both when at it like demons.
end of the 4th both were gone.
the one to rise from his stool to start the round was the winner. bob couldn't and retired...but matt probably wouldn't have been able to stand up either.
check it out again if you have it...its a classic

He had some lovely punchups on the way up: Mike Holden, Julius Francis, Michael Sprott I, Keith Long; none of them are on Youtube and if you google his name the top results are him getting blown out versus David Price and Anthony Joshua. All those wins he scored, the straps he collected, and he's remembered for his losses against Pricey and AJ when he was nearly 50.

I have this but unable to load on to YouTube...skelton had a bright patch during that era and he was a tough hombre. But I never found him impressive....more a mauling bear...

Even when Skelton was undefeated a lot of people turned their nose up at his crude style. I admire men who though lacking talent still manage to go far in boxing using sheer willpower and dedication. Can you imagine if talented but gutless characters like Larry Donald and Kirk Johnson could have been imbued with Matt Skelton's drive? They would have been world champions.
