Ultimate Boxxer VI: Heavyweights - 13 December 2019
Re: Ultimate Boxxer VI: Heavyweights - 13 December 2019
to be honest Mark looks tired now.
Re: Ultimate Boxxer VI: Heavyweights - 13 December 2019
Some fun wild swings in this...
Re: Ultimate Boxxer VI: Heavyweights - 13 December 2019
Mark just looking for the big shot, hes buggered really. 2-0 to Webb, Mark needs to knock him out
Re: Ultimate Boxxer VI: Heavyweights - 13 December 2019
Bennett has been the best fighter on the night but those 6 hard rounds have taken it out of him and webb knows that so hes keeping it long.
Re: Ultimate Boxxer VI: Heavyweights - 13 December 2019
They had nothing left - not a great final.
Webb wins on the bridle.

I fancied Webb to win this outright and he deserved it on the night, I wouldve liked to have seen Bennett get it though, all 3 of his fights were wars, especially the first 2, double hard bastard
Re: Ultimate Boxxer VI: Heavyweights - 13 December 2019
Webb - Allen rematch maybe.

I think Sandland at biggest is a smallish natural crusierweight, would like to see him lose his fat because he's got something to him, but those big guys I think just too much strength--you could see Bennett's shots in the first 2 rounds sort of knocking him about even when blocked. This was his career low and still a big flabby gut on him at only 5'10. Also rather strange the one judge had him losing to Bennett only 29-28
And credit to Bennett too, his first 2 fights were crackers and unfortunetly left him drained for the final. Webb been through some bad times in his career so he must be feeling very good and renewed right now.

Dammit I tried to record this on BNation for old time's sake but it appears they didn't show it. I'll have to catch the repeat on BT Sport

Just spoken to Mark Bennett. Bit sore this morning but admits that Webb was 1 fight too far. Over a longer distance and fresh he fancies his chances.
Hopefully 202 will get him a crack at Central Area title.
Without Bennett on that bill last night it would have been a boring tourny Bennett certainly put his heart and soul into it and went there to win.

I only watched a bit last night and I wish all the lads the best of luck
But, professional boxers? - there was very little technical ability on show
Professional athlete? - again, looking at their physiques and fitness levels none of them looked particularly athletic
It looked like what I would expect to see from a local charity white collar show at a local nightclub or something

Heavyweights get away with it cuz they don’t need to make weight.bripez wrote: ↑14 Dec 2019, 08:33 I only watched a bit last night and I wish all the lads the best of luck

If Bennett was fitter he might have won
With their current skill set and fitness levels they will all be lucky to get an Area level shot

Ya it wasn't high level stuff. That said, I think the format brings out the sloppier sides of fighters.

True mate. How many amateur fights have you seen where they look like a couple of kids fighting in the playground and that's after having all the fundamentals drilled in to you months beforehand lol...margaret thatcher wrote: ↑14 Dec 2019, 10:38 Ya it wasn't high level stuff. Well that’s upto them, they don’t need to make weight, but surely like you said, they can at least look fit. Bennett has himself to blame.bripez wrote: ↑14 Dec 2019, 09:38But they don’t get away with itRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 Dec 2019, 08:45

Webb is an accident waiting to happen, wide open to right handers, chins not so good, panics when punches are thrown at him, loads up too much and leaves himself vulnerable.
This is probably as good as it gets for him, he needs to quit before he's sparked again (that oaf David Allen is talking about a return with him)

I'd like to see Sandland vs Bennett over 10 for the Central Area.
Guaranteed thriller

Luck of the draw. Webb had an easier path to the final but deserved his win. Great effort from Bennett.
Not a bad night at all considering the lack of quality.
