Managers-Do top fighters really need them ?
At some point in a champion's career is a manager really necessary, let alone worth 1/3 off the top ?

Wouldn't a top fighter need more managing than a lower level fighter who doesn't have the same type of offers to contemplate?

Do Al Haymon and Eddie Hearn know the difference between the roles of manager and promoter?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑14 Dec 2019, 14:13Do you know the role and duties associated to managers of fighters?

Yes, I know what managers do; I'm interested in the opinions of the other posters especially as to compensation rates for managers of top guys, say a Canelo or Crawford. If they are paying a third, imo that's excessive at this point in their careers.
Re: Managers-Do top fighters really need them ?
Very much doubt anyone is paying a third 10-15 percent max
Re: Managers-Do top fighters really need them ?
Now that's more reasonable. Years ago, it was often a 50-50 split.

According to three lawsuits, Al Haymon clearly does.ewenhay wrote: ↑14 Dec 2019, 14:45Do Al Haymon and Eddie Hearn know the difference between the roles of manager and promoter?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑14 Dec 2019, 14:13

And in a terms of Hearn, there’s no evidence of him “managing” any of the fighters that compete on Matchroom’s fight cards.
