Bet deep down Davison will be praying Fury gets KO'd against Wilder.
He says, “we’re still friends and he’ll smash the dosser” so, if you’re right he’s a classy liar.

Brendan trained Naz fromthe age of 7. At 21 he became our youngest ever world champion. He defended that title 11 times, beating other champions, before Brendan told him he was no longer going to train him.
The fact that he trained poorly and lost a fight 3 years later had nothing to do with Brendan's coaching.
I don't think he was much worse for the Barrera fight to be honest. He was still in his prime. His record is full of sensational wins but not against the likes of Barrera. You've got a guy with natural pound for pound power and world class speed and reflexes. In terms of natural talent he is up there on Roy Jones level. Yet he's getting schooled in his prime by Barrera who, lets be frank, was beatable. He'd already been beaten by a slick fighter in Junior Jones. Walloped to the canvas in fact and beaten comprehensively in their second fight. I don't think you can just absolve the Ingle gym of any responsibility for the way his career panned out after he left as he was probably too old to learn new tricks at that stage.

At the same time he was a very exciting fighter and his personality and character was definitely developed to a large extent by Brendans training style and the atmosphere of the Ingle gym so it's a tough question but in terms of boxing ability I think he would have achieved much more if he'd come through a philly gym for example.
He would have achieved alot more if he had just stayed with Brendan and listened instead of thinking he knew everything.

Not suprised , it was bound to happen , the guy was'nt an experienced trainer ,he was a mate who helped get him in shape , but then loved the limelight, running around the world , just stating the obvious, and claiming it came from a great skill as a trainer

Its ok though he can start a gym in London now and make a good living doing boxercises , for rich overweight buisnessmen , who can then go claim they train with Furys ex trainer ,, cos i doubt he'll ever be able to produce , kids who are good ameteurs and take them to a world title , Never did think he was the right guy for the job , said it on here many a time , he did'nt have the experience to point out anything but the obvious .

SugarHill Steward, the new head trainer of heavyweight Tyson Fury, is confident his man will overcome WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in their anticipated rematch on February 22.

Steward is putting together a plan to take Wilder down.

"It's the Kronk style, so it's not hard to figure out. What did Emanuel like the most? If you know that answer, you know the plan Tyson spoke about. It's so simple, you could miss it," Steward told Sky Sports.

"Both guys are big punchers but Wilder is bigger, he is a beast of a puncher. But one punch changes a fight and this is why the heavyweights are the big daddies of them all. [A knockout] is always the plan. Why think anything less?

"He wanted a trainer who was technical. He wants to be very technical. We will work on his technique. These are the characteristics he was looking for when he called me, and I fit the description. It all happened so fast. Initially he spoke to me about coming into camp, then I heard Ben Davison is gone and I'm the head trainer."

Javan ‘SugarHill’ Steward has revealed some details of his relationship with Tyson Fury after the pair decided to forge a partnership in an attempt to defeat Deontay Wilder.

Fury left Ben Davison after a two-year link-up this week, severing ties in an amicable manner in a bid to step up his world title challenge.

The former unified world heavyweight champion is scheduled to face Wilder in a rematch of their epic 2018 battle. The pair will war again on February 22nd, most likely at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Steward, nephew of the late, great Emanuel Steward and formerly working with Adonis Stevenson, steps into the breach having worked with Fury briefly when he was an English belt holder back in 2010.

Uncle Manny predicted Fury would be the dominant heavy of today. A statement Fury and Steward now hope to finalize by dethroning Wilder of his WBC strap.

Discussing how they hooked back up after all these years, Steward spoke exclusively to World Boxing News.

“We worked a lot, what 10 years ago now,” Steward told WBN. “Tyson was living with me and Emmanuel for about a month. He also spent time in training camp with Wladimir Klitschko in Austria. That’s when we worked. But we had a great relationship, a great training method and everything else.”

On who made the first move, Steward added: “Obviously, you know he called me. So he wants to be back doing some technical things like how Emanuel did it and myself.”

Asked about some of the finer details of preparations for the Wilder return, Steward replied: “From what I know it should be Las Vegas, that’s what he told me.

“He said he had a camp in Las Vegas already from what I know. He was with Ben Davison and now he’s not, Ben Davison is out of the team. So I guess that was the original training camp and that’s what I’m looking forward to.

“The whole thing should start in January. We’re going to start the new year off right,”
he pointed out.

ANDY LEE

Fury’s cousin Andy Lee, who also trained with Manny Steward back in the day, could have some involvement, according to Steward.

“We don’t know how yet. And we don’t know yet to what extent, but he’ll be someway involved. Andy has a busy schedule himself so we will work it out,” concluded the Kronk trainer.

Possessing an old school mentality when it comes to coaching, it will be interesting to see how Fury reacts to a complete change-up from Davison’s new age methods.

Almost being taken out by Wilder in the twelfth round last time out, Fury will want to close the gaps in order to see out what should be a wide points win if he can avoid being dropped again.

Wilder vs Fury II is the classic ‘boxer vs puncher’ match-up. It could break modern Pay-Per-View records for a heavyweight contest if promoter Bob Arum’s prediction comes true early next year.

An official announcement on the rematch is expected before Christmas.

Is Sugar Hill any good?
Can't say I know a great deal about him, a list below of some that he's trained

Sorry quoted you instead of whoever said it. And yep, I think he is the youngest post war.

Out of interest, why in life and normally sport, do we go with this whole "post war" thing with facts? I mean, wtf does that mean? What relevance at all does it have to a subject matter?!

You know one thing is for sure though , Fury will get rid of him has well ,, he really does come across has a gym slut who has been everywhere , trained with everyone and shown NO LOYALTY , , his style is and always has been the same , NO ONE will change him , just get blamed when it does'nt work ,,,

Davidson , personaly i said all along was the wrong man , he seemed to think it was about him the longer it went , started too believe his own publicity ,,,, But really what can you do with Fury , the guy has been boxing since he was a little kid , he eats sleeps and breathes boxing , he's trained with that many good trainers he's heard it all , So really teaching this old dog new tricks is gonna be hard , he will always fall back into his old ways .

So what can you do with someone like Tyson , its simple , you sit him down and tell him , straight , theres no one on this earth who can teach you new tricks every day , no one knows that much ,,, But what you can do is go over his style make small adjustments here and there , and continualy make him go over and over and over , the little bad habits he's got into , because he's been fighting inferior products , and get him out of them,,, probably make him start with the basics and go back to perfecting them , after all a fight with Wilder is'nt gonna be the most technicle fight we see , he's Wilder , not Lomenchenko ,, You know the bogey punch is that long right hand , just make sure your on an angle not to recieve it , and when you do your gaurd is up , its not really rocket science , ,

Tyson will fight on instinct , he just has to be correct in what he does so he needs a trainer who will just make him do the drills over and over and over , till he becomes technicly perfect with the basics ,, Too be honest i think AJ's team would be the best for him , Mcracken and this new guy would be perfect for Fury , If they can get in Tysons words the big stiff robot , winning Ruiz with good basics , they would do wonders with Tyson he has more ability
