Anyone know whatever happened to Garcia after boxing?
Garcia was someone who I like to watch back in the late 80s till his retirement early 2000,
I remember when Mike Dixon stopped him in 2 rounds which was a big shock back in 93 when it looked like Garcia was well on the way to a world title shot. I dont think he was ever the same after that fight, drawing with James Warring then getting knocked out again by Garing Lane who was really only a journeyman heavyweight.
Garcia just never made the world title even though it really looked like he could win one at some point.
He retired in 2005 and thats that really.

Re: Alex Garcia
Good British scene thread.
He was last sighted shaking down people for money in NYC outside Lewis/Holyfield I like a latino Jeff Meritt. (I'm not kidding)

Re: Alex Garcia
He took part in one of the most sickening fights in boxing history when the referee failed to stop his encounter with Bernard Benton until it was almost too late. I still feel sick just thinking about it.
Re: Alex Garcia
I remember that fight. Benton took wedding beating and didn't throw nothing at all back. The ropes helped to keep him up and the ref just stood and watched the slaughter. Saying that Benton's corner didn't intervene I don't think either
