Errol Spence Jr slurring his words?
I am not sure what to make of this but just saw his first interview post the accident and he is sounding very slurry/voice is off - am I looking too much into it?

I reckon he’s been leading an unhealthy lifestyle. Maybe been on a bender.

If he was a drunk then I wouldn''t be surprised at all if he was still a drunk
Re: Errol Spence Jr slurring his words?
Ppl are fked mate it wouldn’t surprise me but really I have no clue. He looked a bit off, will have to see him again in the future.kbackup408 wrote: ↑21 Dec 2019, 22:42I highly doubt after the last few months he's had he will be drinking - if he is man he is a dopey twat!

Hes a drunk. He has a problem.
Re: Errol Spence Jr slurring his words?
Who knows but I’ve seen him drunk either once or twice in the public eye after mainstream fights plus his car accident which makes 3 in public. Not idea privately but you can imagine.

That's just that Southern drawl.

Yes, you're making too much of it. He's embarrassed and that made him nervous. Dental surgery messes with your speech pattern.

Errol Spence has always been one of these lazy slow slurry talkers, not to mention always looking half asleep. I'd be more concerned if he was talking quickly and fluidly and seemed full of energy, then you'd know something messed with his brain

Lol. True on that.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑22 Dec 2019, 00:30 Errol Spence has always been one of these lazy slow slurry talkers, not to mention always looking half asleep. If he was a dwarf he'd definitely be the sleepy one. If I ran into Errol on the street knowing nothing of him there is no way I'd peg him as an elite level boxer.

Re: Errol Spence Jr slurring his words?
Exactly....Spence has never been very articulate in his speech. Both Holyfield & Hearns were similarly slow of speech, even in their early careers, long before the wear & tear of boxing caught up with them & made them sound "punch drunk" like they do today!!Impractical Poster wrote: ↑22 Dec 2019, 01:16Lol. He wasn't slurring.
I was surprised to see him.
I'd keep him out until the fall, he looks like he needs to rest and recharge, it takes time.
Unfortunately as a high profile boxer Errol has to promote himself under pressure to keep his career hot, that's what you saw tonight.
Spence looked a bit beat up as he would after what he's been through.
I'd go into the chill zone if I were Errol, low key under the radar and let your people keep you hot in the press.
Clearly needs to spend time looking after himself, he has a solid reputation and should lay back on that and cash in on his previous work.

This is how he always sounds.
Some of you are just trying to make something out of nothing. I have him on Snapchat. He seems perfectly fine.

This. Hopefully he comes back 100%. Looks like either Danny Garcia or Manny P. I think it will be Manny.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑22 Dec 2019, 07:38 This is how he always sounds.

It takes time to recover, no one is saying he's done or anything close to it.
Errol just needs time without limits and schedules and should down tools and chill, simple as that, it'll come together as long it's done properly and let nature take it's course.

I hold my hands up that could just be EJ getting used to his new teeth
Re: Errol Spence Jr slurring his words?
Between Khan and Spence it's a race for the worst hairstyle isn't it.
Re: Errol Spence Jr slurring his words?
Might still be the aftershock of what happend. That crush was a close one. He got away with some minor injuries and might need sometime out to process the ptsd first.
Re: Errol Spence Jr slurring his words?
True. He's always had that slow drawl. I think it's the new dental work that makes it more muffled. It's like how 50 cent and Kanye West sound now vs before what happened to them.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑22 Dec 2019, 07:38 This is how he always sounds.

Re: Errol Spence Jr slurring his words?
The thing that most impresses me about Spence's interview is the fact that he says he does NOT want a tune-up bout but wants his first fight back to be against either Danny Garcia or Pacquiao!!
After such a traumatic car wreck you couldnt fault Errol if he wanted to ease back into action with a tune-up against a 2nd-tier opponent like Thurman did with Josesito Lopez before he fought Pac.
