Good fight if it happens.
Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
Good fight and a chance for Warrington to raise his profile in the states.

Hope this goes ahead, would probably go if it was held at Elland Road. Good fight on paper.

I can't help but read that as 'shakin Stevens' on first glance.
Showing my age I guess

I really rate Shakur, though yes he is boring and lacks power. I think he can take what Galahad did and up it a few levels.

I don't think Josh will give him the chance to be boring.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑23 Dec 2019, 14:28 I really rate Shakur, though yes he is boring and lacks power. I think he can take what Galahad did and up it a few levels.
Who do you see as the A side in this?
Pertinent as I don't see this as going anywhere but into the judges hands.

I’d fancy Josh to out-hustle the American, who’s obviously very good but surely hasn’t faced a pressure fighter with the high intensity Josh brings. He’s not hurting the Leeds warrior & doesn’t seem to have the fire power to hold him off. Great fight

And obviously Warrington tends to bring pressure, but it's been pretty common for those high volume guys to have their output drop significantly vs a slick boxer. Warrington wasn't' bringing it so hard vs Kid for example and I think Shak is the best boxer he'll have faced
If Warrington can still throw like 100 punches a round he'll be winning rounds probably, but I'm expecting a lower output Josh
Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
Guessing it will be Elland Road in May once Football Season is done on PPV to get Stevenson/Arum out of the US money wise.

Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
I’ve underestimated josh so many times and I’m probably gonna do it again but I’d fancy Stevenson to outpoint him, not comfortably but definitively. Stevenson is big at the weight and a slick boxer. Warrington has done class but that high volume, low power style doesn’t often result in a lengthy career at the top. Warringtons prime has been fantastic but it could be short lived.
He’ll make it a fight though.

Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
You can't out hustle no one if you can't get to them.
I never thought Warrington would get near Selby.....

Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
Definitely will be looking to attend this one.
Hope it will be hard fought & exciting.
Indeed, many of us are waiting for Josh to level out and for the opponents to figure him out but he’s done very well.
Kind of hoped his “defining fight” would come vs an aggressor, though.

Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
Problem will be that Warrington will be facing a slick fighter who is also very big at the weight.
As already said if he keeps up the Calzaghe style workrate then he can win it.

Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
Didn’t bother. Heard he got spoiled by a Galahad whose negativity cost him.
Sounded like Froch v Dirrell and Canelo v Lara. These were bad enough.
Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
I thought Warrington beat Galahad close but clear.

Was hoping Warren would put Josh on the Fury bill in a 10 rounder mark time fight until a big fight back at Elland Road but doesn't look likely .

Gonna be a 3-fight PPV.Floyd the snake wrote: ↑28 Dec 2019, 05:58 Was hoping Warren would put Josh on the Fury bill in a 10 rounder mark time fight until a big fight back at Elland Road but doesn't look likely .
Wilder-Fury 2
PBC vs. PBC
TR vs. TR
there will be 6 non-PPV fights, likely shown on FS1 and ESPN+ or something
3 PBC vs. PBC fights and 3 TR vs. TR fights
So the only PBC vs. TR fight you’ll see is Wilder vs. Fury.
Will obviously be on BT PPV. Hopefully not £25.
FW ain’t got a say on the card it looks. Best thing he can do is put on a card UK time which can lead into the PPV.
Maybe have Dubois or Warrington? Yarde headline that event.
He’s saving Dubois for April, he said he had the O2 booked.
Re: Josh Warrington vs Shakur Stevenson
Really interesting style wise. Shakur still very very young, and inexperienced as a pro. He does however looks the fuggen business and is an Olympian. Warrington a nightmare for anyone the way he just doesn’t stop. I’ve learned not to underestimate Josh but think SS’s team wouldn’t take the fight unless they were very sure.
Would’ve loved Warrington vs Leo instead but apparently LSC decided after beating Frampton he would never fight anyone good again.
