Davis vs. Gamboa | Pascal vs. Jack on UK TV??

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

I guess we're used to not having a lot of cards in the UK anymore.

I thought maybe Premier Sports might have picked it up. Take it ITV have totally ficked off.

Sky Sports in the past have picked up Davis' cards. Not this time I guess.

This could have been the last card we can see in the UK. Shame.

Yeah coverage is dwindling every month to just odd DAZN show - unless FW announcement with BT is they are going to show Top Rank events in New Year (hopefully) but wouldn’t hold my breath for BT investment.

Its hard to believe Pascal and Jack haven't already fought each other, 2 of the best resumes in the game and both based in Canada which isn't exactly US, Mexico or UK

For some unknown reason I just lack interest in their careers, I don't have a clue why, both men have never ducked a challenge and are exactly what top level boxing should be about but I cant figure why the bore me

Shock horror Davis misses weight, turns up late, shoves Gamboa and causes a melee, looks like amateur hour from Georgia commission, far too many people on stage, apparently Paul Williams was up onstage in his wheelchair when it kicked off, not sure if any real violence or just a lot of pushing and shoving, I turned it off, looks a farce, Davis come in over a lb over I think it was

It’s TANK time !! Love Gamboa too, a takes no prisoners knock out artist. Great fight shame non of our idiot uk broadcasters are picking it up.
The box news prediction of Tank on points seems well off the mark, surely his big punching will see off the very brave but a little past it Cuban dynamo before the end - going to be bombs away while it lasts .

Really disappointed with how much we are getting done over lately.

No Charlo v Harrison 2 on UK TV and now no Davis v Gamboa.

Hopefully something changes soon

I'd love nothing more than to see Gamboa put Maidana/Broner style beat down on Davis but at 38 I give him zero chance

Gamboa had a lot of potential but wasted his prime. I don't think Arum helped by refusing to make the Juanma fight. Lopez then getting exposed by Mtagwa who Gamboa destroyed in brutal fashion in his next fight. 2009-2012 was his prime and it's a shame that a fight between him and Mikey Garcia didn't happen at the time because I would have had the winner as number 1 at 126 and 130 at that time period in retrospect. It would have been one of those fights that you look back on and realize it's significance after the fact. People might pick Garcia to win that fight in retrospect but I think people forget that Gamboa was an absolute beast of a fighter at that time. Stylewise Garcia was always going to have more longevity.

Yeah I was a huge fan of Gamboa around 2010, real shame so much of his career ended up wasted.

I think he definitely would have done Davis if he was in his prime. Davis looked like a poor mans Zab Judah in the fight. I also noticed Jim Grey was going very light on him in the post fight interview, having a good laugh with Davis. This is a guy who has blatantly ducked Lomachenko on several occasions and literally said himself he doesn't want the fight.
