Firpo´s father was Italian while his mother was spanish immigrant. Firpo was born in Junin, outside Buenos Aires, made his pro debut in Buenos Aires where he also is buried.
Bonavena is also from Buenos Aires, represented Argentina at the 1963 Pan Am Games, and is also buried in Buenos Aires (his funeral at Luna Park Stadium was attended by 150.000 people).

Bonavena's father was an Italian immigrant to Argentina,( a cable-car operator from what I remember)
but I think his mother may have been of Native Spanish stock.
He sort of had an usual shaped cranium,it sort of looked Inca or maybe Chimu Native American shaped.
( but i'm not a forensic Anthropologist)
But IMOP Bonavena sort of resembled a cross between Tommy Morrison and really beefy Bruce Lee (?)

Re: Hispanic Heavyweight tournament...who wins?
Probably John Ruiz Jr. He's the best boxer of the bunch, and also one of the bigger guys on the list which doesn't have too many puncher's on it.

You gotta book the Tournament before I can predict how it would play out. I don't know who's fighting who here, and styles make fights.
