Canelo vs Jean Pascal ? 37y/o Pascal may look so appealing for Canelo!

Post by apollo creed »

First I think Jack edged the fight b/c he was the more consistent fighter but it is what it is. Now let's be fair what other opponent is worthy for Canelo than a 37 y/o high profile fighter with a belt like Pascal ? This would be the right type of opponent at the right moment for Canelo @ 175 lbs! :OhYes: :box:

Pascal is still Kovalev's leftovers. It would not be appreciated by fans if Canelo fights him after stopping Kovalev.

Yeah I would've thought either Pascal or Badou Jack would've been right up his alley. Whoever won, because I'd make Canelo the heavy favorite over either.

It won't matter. Canelo also fought chiny washed up Khan, washed up JCCJr, Smith , Rocky Fielding and guess what ? People bought those fights! Canelo vs Pacal fight would sell big time imo! :TU:

Btw Canelo fought Jacobs who was GGG's leftover.

Jacobs wasn't stopped by GGG. It was a narrow loss, so Canelo had an opportunity to claim that Jacobs beat GGG.

Every fight Canelo has from now on is all going to be about big money. I don’t think Pascal represents that at this point.

UD win for G and Jacobs is GGG's leftover. Another exemple could be Canelo-Trout-Cotto. :TU:

So do you think that BJS, Callum Smith, Andrade or even GGG III fights would be bigger money events than Canelo vs Jean Pascal @ 175 lbs? lol

First of all Canelo isn’t likely staying at 175 so the question is kind of moot. And I Definitely think GGG III and Callum smith and possibly those other ones would be more lucrative at this point.

Why on earth would Canelo want to face Jean Pascal?

Canelo already captured a more superior world title at 175lbs (as well as vacated it) and the Mexican has just KO’d the fighter that stopped Pascal with ease TWICE?

Pascal is a very lucrative fight for Canelo atm. It doesn't matter if Pascal got beat by Kovalev. Also styles make fights and Canelo vs Pascal would be a very good action-packed fight. :box:

JP is the right 'cherry' with a good profile for Canelo. Just like old washed up Kovalev was. Only that I think Pascal would give a fight to Canelo. :box:

That would be a far worse cherrypick than picking Pascal, considering Callum's last performance against John Ryder.

I think he’d get a bit more criticism for taking on a 37 year old man who’s been beaten 6 times, has minimal power and indecisively won his last fight ;)

Why would Pascal be “a very lucrative fight for Canelo”?

And why wouldn’t the commercial demand to see any potential bout between Canelo and Pascal not be adversely affected by Jean’s two one-sided stoppage defeats to Sergey Kovalev?

Don’t just make bold claims, provide some sort of explanation to justify the reason why you personally believe them to be true!

Pascal is a real veteran warrior and a big name. At 37 y/o Pascal would beat the poo out of Callum. You can't compare the opponents that Pascal has been facing in his career with the former opponents of Callum Smith. Ryder beat Callum. Enough said.

Pascal needs some rest after this fight. Looked pretty beaten up.
