I saw an average sized English man do a simple defensive kick used in Muay Thai to push your opponent off and he took the aggressor (doorman) clean off his feet. It was like a movie.
Legs are much more powerful than arms are if you know what your doing, check out some of Dillian Whytes kicks on you tube, would not want to be on the end of one.
The difference is that they are difficult to land, boxers are adept at slipping punches from 6 inches, you have all day to avoid kicks.

You don't even need to land kicks to keep someone off if they are untrained in dealing with them though. And with kicks shots to the arms even can do loads of damage, ask Jerome Le Banner.

Kickboxers train to punch as well, people often focus just on the kicking aspect of the sport when it gets mentioned next to boxing, but many kickboxers are very good with their hands and a lot of good boxers have come from kickboxing. There should really be no doubt that it's a more effective discipline than boxing in general when all strikes are permitted, as it trains you to use all your standing weapons.. Obviously things vary from each individual boxer and kickboxer though

Liam Harrison does a mad lower leg kick with his right leg followed by a sharp left hook. He’s knocked loads out with it and it doesn’t travel far.

Already mentioned a guy who in total working on doors , broke 3 peoples knee 's with kicks to the knee , he was a kickboxer /muththai fighter , had legs like tree trunks , his shins were like baseball bats , the power he could generate with them kicks was awsome .

Ya, a lot of good boxers started with kickboxing. I think Povetkin, Groves, Huck, Miller, and Whyte all too. There for some reason seems to be this belief that kickboxers can't do f@ck all with their hands.

I have much respect for boxers, but I concur you don't want to mess with Thai boxers.
Boxers are not prepared for a Thai kick to the knee, let alone the knees and elbows of the clinch

British actor takes stance on Josh Taylor: I’ll never watch his fights again!

British actor Vas Blackwood has vowed never to watch another Josh Taylor fight following a recent admission in court of racial abuse.

Taylor, who won the World Boxing Super Series tournament at super lightweight this year, was fined after pleading guilty in Scotland.

World Boxing News removed Taylor from the running for World Boxing News Fighter of the Year 2019. This was solely due to the fact Taylor was convicted after a guilty plea.

‘The Tartan Tornado’ has since apologized for his actions. But this hasn’t stopped Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels star Blackwood from taking his stance.

Writing on social media, Blackwood said: “Never met Josh Taylor but having just read about his racist mindset I’ll never watch another one of his fights.

“We are living in serious times where Far-Right extremists are on the rise. Taking matters into there own hands by verbally and physically abusing Blacks.”

Never met Josh Taylor but having just read about his racist mindset I'll never watch another one of his fights. We are living in serious times where Far-Right extremists are on the rise, taking matters into there own hands by verbally & physically abusing Blacks. #JoshTaylor

— Vas Blackwood (@VasBlackwood) December 18, 2019
Blackwood is an avid boxing fan and regularly posts on his channels about the sport he loves.

For Taylor, the unified world title-holder has vowed to reflect on his brush with the law and come back a better person.

“I can only apologise. Not only to those whom I offended but to my family and friends for the upset I’ve caused,” said Taylor.

“There’s no excuse for the comments and the disturbance. I’m going to take some time off over Christmas to reflect on my actions. Ensure it never happens again.”

On a cocaine possession charge being dismissed, Taylor added: “I’m regularly tested by all the relevant authorities. And could be at any time regardless of when I’m fighting.

“I would never risk my career and reputation with drugs.”

Too right. There is no excuse for that, people don’t suddenly become racist after a few drinks, those thoughts are in their head already and have been unlocked by substances...

I didn’t recognise the actor’s name, so he’s Rory Breaker? His timeline is 90% boxing tweets, seems like a good bloke. Presumably he’s not talking about Taylor being racist against blacks per se, just talking about the general climate in Britain which I would agree seems to be becoming more overtly racist every day.

How did Taylor know the bouncer was 'orange'?

Suggests there was a bit of back and forth prior to the insult. Probably 2 sides to this one.
