I feel that Valero had a bit of Vitali to him in terms of people overrating his power based on his KO percentage. .when he started facing better opposition he was more a guy who wore opponents down with volume than a true KO banger like Rosario was. I followed him from the begging when he started in Japan, and as a lover of big punchers I was a bit disappointed when this started being evident.
Style wise he was a bit like a poor man's version of the earlier, sloppier Pacquiao who was quick and strong but had low ring IQ , was a bit open, and would only throw 1-2s.
His death was the best thing that happened to his boxing legacy, as awful as that may sound. He was getting close to losses and aura shattering distance fights I feel....
