What are the keys to beating Adam Kownacki ?

Post by drunkenpiper36 »

Okay so he’s obviously got a lot to prove. But given his boxing skill, stamina and off the charts workrate for a heavy, the guy is no easy proposition. What say you ?

I think it you have power you knock him out and if you have movement you out point him. Only semi decent guys I'd give him a chance against are volume guys like him or say like Joyce or Miller. still think he loses those.

Not many guys in boxrec top 25 that kownacki beats in my opinion. But won't know till he steps up.

Perhaps. But Charles Martin hits very hard and nailed him with plenty of solid shots that didn’t seem to phase him that much. Outboxing him is a possibility but you’d have to overcome his output. Kownacki is just about the busiest heavyweight in the ring

Charles Martin needed 1/2 more round(s) and what's Charles Martin even supposed to be good at?

Anyone with decent power that can box probably knocks him out as he's so hittable. I'd personally pick the entire Boxrec top 14+Rivas to beat him. Only close one would be Chisora because they'd both eat so may shots.

I'm not sold on him, so I think most of the top #10 beat him. Except maybe Whyte, I'm not sold on him either.
To start with, full VADA testing would be a good idea.

Punch him in his wide open face. His work rate is all he has. Though in the putrid heavyweight division that can beat most. He'll be stopped soon enough.

Too each their own. It's not as bad as it was 10 years ago, there are some interesting fights to not make. I'll give you that. The top 3 are good. This guy is not.

Box and move you win. Got great ko power you win. Below top 7 or 8 HW"s, you might lose.

Oh no I didn’t start the threat to taut Kownacki as a great fighter. Just that he’s a tough guy for some to beat. I think the heavyweight division is looking healthy. Some good rising prospects and like you say a good top 3

His defense isn't great, he eats jabs. He gets easily outboxed against Fury. Takes an unprotected power shot against Wilder and Joshua that knocks him out. Probably same goes for Whyte and Ortiz.

I figure he could beat outboxed or outslugged. His workrate doesn't really do him much favors as the fight goes on as he seems to lose the zip on his punches about midway through the fight.

Plenty of guys that could beat him, and plenty of ways they could go about doing it. He's not particularly skilled, and he's not in the best of shape.

Usyk, Povetkin, Parker, Pulev, Jarrell Miller...some more guys that could beat him.

That dude that just fought Povetkin to a draw could probably beat him too.

That one would be 50/50 to me, but it's certainly not out of the question he could beat him. Not sure if he'll be more gunshy now after the Wilder fight, but the way he was prior to that it'd have been an evenly matched fight for sure.

Ok, wouldn't take a ton to beat him is all I'm saying. Charles Martin could do it. Short answer, definitely need desire, he won't give it away.

Charles Martin had his chance and didn’t.. he fought a very good fight though. Yes there are others who I’d favor to beat him. Luis Ortiz, Usyk, whyte, Fury, Joshua, Ruiz, wilder.. maybe even an aged Povetkin. But my purpose of starting the thread had more to do with ways of doing it.

He's going to get knocked out and my guess is that invincibility part of the chin that's mental will go away

Yeah, my guess is they're keeping him on tap for one of Wilder's title defenses. Or maybe a comeback fight should he lose to Fury in the rematch. Either way I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting that shot especially if he gets one more noteworthy win. In the meantime it's highly likely he could be knocked out by someone else he'd be matched with.

He's entertaining to watch though certainly. Outside of being an opponent for Wilder I'm not sure what else PBC would have planned for him. Is Andy Ruiz still a PBC fighter? Maybe they'd match him against Kownacki.

Either way. Yeah he'll be stopped by one of these boys at the top, and as for how. I mean...he's there to be hit, and he'll get hit and he'll fall. He hasn't really been matched with a particularly devastating puncher yet.

We won't be seeing Ruiz for a long time
