Tickets: From £22.15 – £76.05

An Evening with Andre Ward. A rare opportunity to hear Andre speak of his undefeated career in the ring.

About this Event

Andre Michael Ward (born February 23, 1984) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 2004 to 2017. He retired with an undefeated record and held multiple world titles in two weight classes, including the unified WBA (Super), WBC, Ring magazine, and lineal super middleweight titles between 2009 and 2015; and the unified WBA (Undisputed), IBF, WBO, and Ring light heavyweight titles between 2016 and 2017. During his reign as light heavyweight champion, Ward was ranked as the world's best active boxer, pound for pound, by The Ring magazine and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB), as well as the world's best active boxer in the division by The Ring, the TBRB, and BoxRec. He is also an actor, known for Creed (2015), Creed II (2018) and 24/7 (2012)

As an amateur, Ward won a gold medal in the light heavyweight division at the 2004 Olympics and turned professional later that year. He rose to worldwide prominence upon entering the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament in 2009, where he won the WBA (Super) super middleweight title from Mikkel Kessler in the opening group stage. In 2011, Ward defeated WBC champion Carl Froch in the tournament final to unify the titles, as well as winning the vacant Ring and lineal titles. That same year, Ward was named Fighter of the Year by The Ring and the Boxing Writers' Association of America. He later won The Ring's Comeback of the Year award in 2016 following a long period of sporadic in-ring activity between 2012 and 2015

Forgive me as I don't know much about these sort of things. I once went to a Bret Easton Elis Q&A and after he came out and met us if we wanted and signed books. Bret Easton Elis is far more interesting and far more famous. Where we saw him was much smaller than York Hall. These venues are pretty big, no?

I might be interested to meet him (as much as I disliked him fighting he was certainly amongst the best of his era and it'd be cool to have a grandkid who was into boxing and be able to say "oh I met Andre Ward once" etc). I wouldn't be interested at all to watch him talk and then go home.

Can you see a lot of these events being cancelled?

I think they're just conference type rooms. Not REALLY big halls.

Does the £76 option come with a punch in the nuts?
If so, I'm in :TU:

I’m not surprised. You spent a few years trying to convince us all Kov would batter him!
I’ll be at the Hull one.

Ward wasn't exactly known for selling a ticket. This will surely bomb and cost the organizers a fortune.
