Canelo vs BJS at 168

Both Canelo himself and his trainer talked about possible Saunders fight recently. How do you see it going?

By Sean Jones: "Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. BJ Saunders is rumored to be announced next week for May 2. This will be a unification fight between WBA ‘regular’ super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (53-1-2,36 KOs) and WBO champion Saunders (24-0, 14 KOs) for Las Vegas, Nevada." @BN24

IF this fight is gonna happen then it's a good fight. BJS has talent but he's lazy and undisciplined for a pro boxer. He has a few good wins like Any Lee, Eubank Jr and Lemieux but nothing too notable. Many people think that BJS is the kind of fighter that excels against better competition but I think Canelo would just outclass him. :box:

I wonder, if BJS comes out in good shape after all inactivity, lower level opposition, etc. Anyway, his style is about outpointing opponents and you can't outpoint Canelo, who always has judges on his side. Canelo is an obvious favourite here.

This will be a tough fight for Canelo.

Saunders is a bit like his close friend Tyson Fury, in that he raises his game according to the calibre of opposition he faces.

Canelo “should” win this bout, but I can’t write-off Saunders’ chances, because the judges’ can’t score rounds for the Mexican if his shots aren’t landing.

Billy Joe would need to make Alvarez miss and then make him pay for the entire twelve round duration in order to stand any chance to gain a decision victory. And I doubt he’s good enough to do this.

I do expect Saunders to be very competitive though, as long as he enters the ring in peak physical condition.

Let's go ahead and CC Adalaide Byrd and CJ Ross on that message...

Judges scored punches which didn't land on the target when Canelo fought Lara. Now Canelo is a much bigger star, so if necessary, they will score every arm movement as a landed punch.

It is a 60/40 fight. The awkward style of Saunders would be problems for Canelo. Still holds Canelo as the favorite.

Would love if they could make this fight happend.

If Saunders is fit, and it's a big if, he could be awkward for Alvarez.

Unfortunately though he doesn't have the power to stop Alvarez so that means a decision victory for Alvarez

BJS could even pull a Calzaghe-like performance off his hat, he hardly will get a decision in his favour.

Canelo for me all the way and even without judges’ help. BJS is very talented but IMO he only really shines when feeling comfortable. Put him under pressure, hit him clean a few times and he’ll just start running. And Canelo is so relentless and offensively skilled that he will hit him. Canelo is no Lemieux.
