With Pascal and Joe Smith's recent victories, Bivol's wins against these two look much more impressive in retrospect.

Ya people were talking sh!t about Bivol-Smith and Bivol-Pascal, but now it looks like 2 dominant victories over respectable opponents. Maybe fighting Bivol is some good luck charm or something

Maybe Bivol gave Smith a lesson without damaging him too much, Smith has been in with Hopkins,Bivol, Barrera, I think he has shown some technical improvement..

Smith not ready for current version of Beiterbev, or Elder Alvarez, but he could fight Gilberto Ramirez.

I am very happy for Joe Smith. His best victory. Wasnt he like a 4:1 underdog? And maybe 40:1 underdog to win this on points :D He beats crap out from Hart in his hometown, Didnt expected this.

Edit: I really like how Smith was fighting today. He clearly came in ring with bad intentions. Overcame his limited boxing skills with his toughness and power :box:

Hart gave Zurdo tough MD decision fights at 168. Both now at 175. It will suit Zurdo more.

Hart beat Barrera, who beat Smith, but now Smith beat Hart. I know style makes fights.

Hart was probably too worried about Smith’s power.

It is about style. Hart was trying to stick and move, but he has just average jab and very bad footwork. Stick and move style is nightmare if you can master it but if you cannot, you will look so bad. Hart was used to being as stronger man in the ring, but he has not plan B for facing a guy who is stronger than him. I am still surprised Smith schooled him like that. Just like poster above wrote, Bivols wins over Smith and Pascal looking more impressive now.

Respect to Hart. He takes on all challenges. He may have felt hard done by Zurdo at 168. I think the reason he followed him to 175 is because TR/ESPN have majority of the LHW’s.

Although he is probably better off fighting at 168.

Hart called out Smith for this fight, Smith said he didn’t even know who Hart was before then, but he accepted. Smith loves a challenge too. Made for a good fight between 2 contenders and puts Smith back into that mix a little.

Maybe Hart should fight in some TR undercards (but not against total bums) and eventualy chase third fight with Ramirez. Smith against Alvarez/Seals winner seems like logical step to me.

Yeh, seems like a plan. Smith vs. Alvarez/Seals can easily be made before Summer.

thought joe would win , won it easy good perforamnce aswell , he has fought a lot of the top fighters in the divison and went the distance with who i think is the best bivol , rd1 was on the front foot pushing and bulling hart , got long arms also in good shape so can fight at that pace, then naturaly tough as a.., aslo has real power , could have stopped hart just landed his big shots at the end of the round so hart survied being touching down ,i would like to see him fight callum smith, as if smith does moves up, you know they will give him a title shot . joe is guts but has natural power tough, and obviously looks after him self ,

From ESPN

"I thought I had him a few times. He was a little slippery and he tied me up well," said Smith, who bounced back from a one-sided decision loss to light heavyweight world titlist Dmitry Bivol in March. "My career was on the line. I had to come here and prove I belong."

He sure proved that he did and set himself up for another notable fight, possibly against the winner of the Jan. 18 ESPN main event between former titlist Eleider "Storm" Alvarez and Michael Seals.

"I would like him to fight the winner of that fight," Arum said.

Star Boxing's Joe DeGuardia, Smith's promoter, added, "Light heavyweight is a hot division and we'll be there next week. Certainly the winner is a potential opponent for Joe."

Smith said he would eventually like a rematch with Bivol but is open to anything.

"Whatever my team thinks is best I will go with it," he said. "I never turn down a fight."

That judge should be suspended. Andre Ward gave Hart only 1 round on his card, and even if you gave Hart every close round that's really only like 3 at most. There is zero chance you can give him 6 rounds without having decided he should be the winner before the fight started.

I kinda hope Alvarez vs. Smith doesn't happen. It'll be a boring, ugly fight that Alvarez will probably win. But the TR/PBC thing makes matchmaking difficult so something like Smith vs. Jack probably isn't possible.
