I dont see parker winning. Usyk is slick enough to not let a quick jab control the fight. His power isnt enough to consistently hurt usyk either
Its a bad style matchup for parker. He will avoid it.

Ignore what fanbois may say and look at just the fighters. Advise me on why Parker wins, help me see through the light you are. BTw Parker's side wont fight for less than 70-30?
Usyk isnt imagined, he is an Olympic champ and totally cleared out CW, including a dominant win over a guy who is now a solid HW contender and just fought evenly with Povetkin. He's about as tall as Parker with 3-4 more inches reach. He also totally clowned 250 pound Joyce in WSB and 5-0'd a 3x world shw champ. He's faster and more skilled than nearly all hws, and has an excellent gas tank. What he lacks most is power and he starts a bit slow.
Joe Parker is durable and quick handed, but I'm just not seeing the same level of boxing ability and he's not a puncher vs decent opposition (or even just Cojanu). He's not much bigger than Usyk either to try to impose himself. I don't think he's the man to beat Usyk, more likely I see him losing a clear decision, maybe like 9- 3 and 8-4
Usyk won't beat the elite HWs, but the people thinking he loses to Parker or is 50-50 with Chis are underrating him, maybe in part frustrated with some of the Uzzy zealots

Parker is better off against bigger slow guys. He should target joyce or chisora to get back in the mix
Id want to see usyk fight either a huge dude like miller (not necessarily him as hes out of contention and rightfully so) or ortiz.. or just go right to joshua

That's right EOEnlightened-One wrote: ↑15 Jan 2020, 06:31 Commercially-speaking, Joseph Parker generates more revenue than Oleksandr Usyk. He is the financial A-side.
Parker is PPV in New Zealand*, no matter who he fights.
* New Zealand is a small group of islands in the Southern Pacific that look like Australia did a turd in the ocean.

I'd think winning a title back would be a nice boost to his financial position

I'm not basing my opinion on what 'fanboys' say, I'm basing it on Usyk's last fight. Which wasn't very impressive.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑15 Jan 2020, 13:24Ignore what fanbois may say and look at just the fighters. He was a good cruiser but noone's going to be scared of taking him to war at heavyweight. And I think Parker is a notch better than Joyce anyway.

What was so unimpressive about Usyk last time that you think Joe beats him? It was just him toying with a guy who landed at like 9 percent. Would a decision over Cojanu boost Usyk's stock for you? I'm genuinely curious about how you see Joe doing it and thought you'd be more specific. What about Usyk vs Povetkin or Hunter?Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑15 Jan 2020, 18:07I'm not basing my opinion on what 'fanboys' say, I'm basing it on Usyk's last fight. Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
I just think he’s feather fisted at heavyweight so will have to use up a lot of energy keeping naturally bigger guys off. he’s going to get landed on and hard at some point as he can also get sloppy in there. Maybe he’s made of iron and can withstand the extra power he’s going to be facing. Maybe I’m also missing something about him. Admittedly Parker isn’t really the ‘pressure’ type of guy that may be needed to put him in hot water. I’ll have to do a bit more research and see if I change my mind.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑15 Jan 2020, 18:48What was so unimpressive about Usyk last time that you think Joe beats him? Also, that was a faded povetkin that fought a close one vs Hunter, I don’t think Povetkin is that relevant any more, he’s fringe contender level now. Which leads me to believe that Usyk could probably beat the fringe level but I think Parker is top 10 level at this point.
One thing I’ll say. In the fight with Joyce that you mention, there was one moment where Joyce was making things uncomfortable and landed a cuffing shot that seemed to rock Usyk for a moment, 0:52. It’s not much, but it may be a hint as to how equipped he is in a firefight vs someone of Parker’s level, and over 12 rounds.

You're right. He was married to Peggy Usmanov too, she's once played the shop keeper in EastendersRiddick Blowe wrote: ↑16 Jan 2020, 07:40His great uncle Lord Cuthbert Usyk-St Hubbingtons had a jellied eel stall in Bow and would shine your shoes governor in the evenings.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑16 Jan 2020, 07:17

Peggy Usmanov
I think Usyk UD against all but the biggest and best heavies for obvious reasons. You woudldn't need that big a price to back Parker though.
Joe is bigger with faster hands and a better chin.

Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
Joe is bigger but not by that much I don't think. He's clearly softer than Usyk, and if you bring their fat in line I don't think it would be too much of a weight difference for HW boxing. They are around the same height and Usyk has 3-4 inches reach on him. I notice that Joe punches short a lot too, like he can't fully extend his shots for some reason.
Joe does have some of the fastest hands at HW, though Usyk is quick as well and I think has much better timing and accuracy. Usyk is better IMO both with single counters and with setting up offensive opportunities. He is most effective when he's boxing and moving I think, and has displayed a superior and longer jab than Joe. As mentioned, Joe doesn't seem to fully extend his shots for whatever reason and punches short a lot.
Power, well, Joe may have more power, but I really don't see it as mattering much and I think they can take each other's shots. These are guys who didn't drop Cojanu or Chazz. Chin, Joe seems really solid and Usyk can get jarred a bit, but again I don't really see either hurting each other much.
Usyk has an elite gas tank that I doubt Joe matches.
In all, putting them all together, I just think Usyk has much more too him as a boxer and I don't really see how Joe's particular style or attributes are the ones to exploit Usyk's weaknesses and beat him. Joe isn't big, he's not particularly strong or hard hitting, he's not aggressive or assertive, doesn't do much inside either. I think Usyk will time him down and outpoint him pretty clearly.

Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
You make some valid points, but I just don't see how Parker is bringing what is needed to exploit Usyk's weaknesses and beat him. I think the opposite actually, that Joe is well-suited for Usyk to beat. Not big or tall (3 inches less reach than Usyk), not a puncher, not particularly aggresive or strong, no real cosistent inside game. Joe's biggest strength is hand speed but Usyk has good timing to counter it.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑16 Jan 2020, 06:40I just think he’s feather fisted at heavyweight so will have to use up a lot of energy keeping naturally bigger guys off. he’s going to get landed on and hard at some point as he can also get sloppy in there. I don't see Parker hurting Usyk much or roughing him up., and I think Usyk has much more boxing skill to him. Joe often looks like he has no gameplan or thinking in there and is simply going on instinct. Joe also has fast hands but a stubby reach and lesser accuracy. And for some reason he never really extends his shots and hence punches short a lot. Imo Usyk will outjab him and time him down for a clear UD
I also think something like Parker vs Hunter would be a near 50-50 fight even though Usyk widely beat and at some points battered the hell out of Hunter.

Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
I'd have more confidence in Parker's chin, but not sure it matters when Joe couldn't do much damage vs Raz Conjanu or 100 year old Leapai and Ussy couldn't Chazz. I'd think they could both take the other's shots without being too badly affected.
Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
Eh, don’t get me wrong it’s a decent fight however I’m just not enthused. Feel like the match up will produce little action...

Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
Parker has never hurt anyone at anywhere near world class level. He only floored Whyte in the 12th because Whyte was so tired he practically fell over. His best stoppage win was what? Bloody Kali Meehan (KOd by Danny Williams in about 5 seconds 15 years earlier). He couldn't hurt H. Fury, Takam, AJ, Whyte or anyone around that level
Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
I pick Usyk. I think the Ukrainian is probably the most talented hvy right now. Not saying Fury couldnt beat him though. Just my opinion
Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
I would have gone with Parker in this, problem is he never seems to really want it. He never fights as though he is hungry for win. Other than that, to me this is a tough pick.
Re: Usyk vs. Parker, who wins ?
Nobody knows, really. Usyk (at least as a pro) has never been hurt in the ring. So, we will have to wait with evaluation on Usyk's chin.

Ya, that's why I think it's not very relevant who has the better chin, I doubt either would really hurt the otherdanconnollyeire wrote: ↑17 Jan 2020, 06:00 Parker has never hurt anyone at anywhere near world class level. Ya agree, but IF Parker had the skills to land a big punch I think his power would prove pretty good.
