I had a thought today, I’m not sure if it’s totally fair because of the amount of fights he commentates on but I think there might be a ‘Rogan Curse.’

Rogan starts calling Anderson Silva the GOAT, Silva promptly gets knocked out by Weidman.
‘Ronda isn’t a once in a lifetime athlete she’s a once ever’ Ronda gets her head kicked into the stands by Holly.
Starts calling Aldo the FW GOAT (admittedly it was clear he was) Aldo gets knocked out in 13 seconds.
Hails Max as the FW GOAT, Max gets soundly beaten by Volkovski soon after.
‘Welcome to the Machida era’ Machida then gets a gift decision followed by a quick knockout from Shogun.

I’m sure there are others that I’m missing. Those are just the first few that came to my head.

Interesting, but nah, there is no Rogan curse.

He was calling Silva GOAT for time before losing to Wiedman.

He is a good friend of Gene Lebell and Rogan promoted and almost deified Rhonda to get the almost non-existent woman's division off the ground.

He tried to do the same with Mighty Mouse, but for whatever reason, it didnt pan out.

From memory he started calling Max the greatest FW right after his rematch with Aldo :o

I'm not really that hyped about this fight. Cerrone always loses when he faces the top guys.

I can't wait for Ferguson-Khabib. Now that's a fight to get pumped up for.

It should be a smart choice for a return opponent. Corrone is a name but at almost 37 he is past his best, on a 2 fight losing streak, has always come up short against the elite and is a dangerous opponent on paper to the casuals. He’s a bit stiff and his defence isn’t great but in the flip side he is longer than Conor, he’s bigger and if he can last 1.5-2 rounds he could pull off an upset. But his age and 4-6 record (3 stoppages from punches) say that it’s unlikely IMO.

The deciding factors in the fight IMO are Conors cardio and how his power translates to 170 against a guy who is *almost* a real 170lb fighter.

Cowboy v Cowboy in reality. McGregor will be done if he doesn't beat him but I'm sure he will. Onto the Pacman fight at some point I guess.

Good to see some solid fights upcoming.

This weekend's card is pure wank but I'll probably watch the early prelims for Askarov vs. Elliott which should be very good. There's usually a quality flyweight fight buried somewhere on the prelims these days. UFC has zero respect for the little guys.

I've a feeling Cerrone is going to do him, he's got a better all around game, I am also not convinced how motivted Conor really is, I think he maybe thinks he will walk this.

I'll be shocked. Cerrone is made for Conor's style in almost every aspect. Cerrone is a notoriously slow starter, he's a bit too stiff for a guy like Conor, has trouble with southpaws, tends to get stopped in the first 2 rounds when he loses, is past his prime, on a 2 fight slide, and fails at the very top level. Conor will have really fallen off if he loses this one. It's pretty much a gimme bout imo.

If this bout goes past the 2nd round I'll be impressed with Cowboy.

I guess we will see.

The Notorious has well, notoriously poor stamina.

If Cerrone has any sense, the thing about standing and trading is horseshite, and he will leg kick conor, take him down and brutalise him.

Conors ground game is totally crap. He's a good striker in MMA, as he shoots his shots from strange angles, and has extremely long arms for his frame too.

I also wonder what kind of ambition aside from the desire for fame and greed conor has. He's made a king's ransom, and hasn't really seeminly improved any of his weak areas.
