Vladimir Shishkin vs Ulises Sierra

Post by handsofstone »

Battle of the unbeaten Super Middleweights live in B/Nation this Friday , they showed Shishkin's last fight as well, he looked alright from what I remember, only 9-0 but already has stoppage wins over Mohammedi and Khomitsky, both of them seen better days but still decent matchmaking, haven't heard of Sierra before, unbeaten in 17 with a couple of draws but been matched soft up until now

Shishkin beats Sierra by a wide UD, I had it 99-91, not really sure what Sierra's tactics were, he never let his hands go nearly enough to trouble Shishkin, when he did throw he landed fairly comfortably which made it more baffling, I wasn't bowled over by Shishkin, he's a bit predictable and one dimensional, doesn't jab or hook much or throw the left at all for that matter and doesn't work the body, he just marched forward and threw right hands to the head which were enough in all fairness and by the 9th it looked like he might get Sierra out of there as he def felt some of those right hands late on and was on his bike, still Shishkin had to make to with a points win

Hadn't realised BN were still showing live fights. What's going on with them?

They just done a deal with Premier Sports mate, no quite sure how it works regarding subscriptions though, its on the BN page that's been on here recently, they've got Julian Williams Super Welterweight title defence tonight and Danny Garcia next week, hopefully they'll get back to where they were a few years ago, I've always got BN through BT Sports but not sure if it'll change bud

Yeah it was great a few years back. You always had something on to watch. Loved all the small hall cards which started at like 6pm right through :TU:

I'm not sure Shishkin knows how to throw anything other than a straight right. It kinda baffles me that a guy with 300 amatuer fights and a good pro training team would be so limited in his arsenal.

I notice a lot of Russian fighters are 1-2 heavy, like Bivol and Kov, but Shishkin only showed the 2

Wicked body shot by Ergashev on the undercard
