He seems to have gotten noticeably less effective as a fighter ever since Mayweather.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑18 Jan 2020, 14:56 I guess we will see.
The Notorious has well, notoriously poor stamina.
If Cerrone has any sense, the thing about standing and trading is horseshite, and he will leg kick conor, take him down and brutalise him.
Conors ground game is totally crap. He's a good striker in MMA, as he shoots his shots from strange angles, and has extremely long arms for his frame too.
I also wonder what kind of ambition aside from the desire for fame and greed conor has. He's made a king's ransom, and hasn't really seeminly improved any of his weak areas.

Re: MMA
I don't agree about his ground game. It's true that he has looked vulnerable on the ground against great ground practitioners. (Mendez, Khabib, Diaz). However, he has shown great TD against a lot of others. He actually gave Khabib a lot of trouble getting him down in the beginning of their first fight. More trouble than the majority of Khabib's opponents. Conor gets a bad rep on his ground game. Truth is we really haven't seen much of it due to he likes to strike. He was subbed by Nate when he initiated the takedown after being gassed. He went into the Mendez fight having leg issues, plus Chad is a phenominal wrestler, and Khabib, well, maybe the best grappler in the UFC. A lot of people are banking on Cowboy being able to fall back on his wrestling if things get tough. What happens if Cowboy cannot set up the takedown? Conor repeatedly stuffed Eddie's takedowns easily.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑18 Jan 2020, 14:56 I guess we will see.

Like you said, we;ll see. I expect an easy night for the Proper Twelve CEO.

I enjoyed seeing Fili on the fight night cards last year, looking forward to seeing him against Yusuff. Other than that, yeah quite an underwhelming card.jujigatame wrote: ↑17 Jan 2020, 22:27 Good to see some solid fights upcoming.
This weekend's card is pure wank but I'll probably watch the early prelims for Askarov vs. Elliott which should be very good. There's usually a quality flyweight fight buried somewhere on the prelims these days. UFC has zero respect for the little guys.

Both right. The Elliott fight was tremendous and Yusuff/Fili is up there as well. Impressed with Yusuff and Askarov. However, Yusuff looks to be fading a bit in the 3rd.Tinnie wrote: ↑18 Jan 2020, 19:07I enjoyed seeing Fili on the fight night cards last year, looking forward to seeing him against Yusuff. Yusuff is a real solid prospect. Fili is a very good win for a 26 year old with 11 fights.

Well I mean he's a big star who's fought at the top. People aren't gonna be interested in seeing him beat up on overmatched guys.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2020, 02:17 So another loss is next for him then?
The amount of people being sucked in after a cynical bit of matchmaking is crazy.

Justin is probably the most winnable fight of those 4 but the least well known.

P4p would rather eat his children than give McGregor credit for anything. I actually missed this by 2 seconds, 'another loss' is easier said than done for easily one of the 10 greatest to ever step in a cage.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2020, 02:17 So another loss is next for him then?

I don't think any fighter is a gimme vs conor. I think he would smash masvidal and, gaithjie is my favorite fighter, but I think Justin accepts punches too willingly. Once scarface smashes khabitch I would not like Mac there, but he obviously would have a punchers chance. Usman/Colby is insane if it's not an immediate rematchlillywhite14 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2020, 06:16You don’t think he’d lose them fights?Onetimeonly wrote: ↑19 Jan 2020, 06:12

He's a bad ass, just a pudendum for me. Don't like conors chances in a rematch either. Extremely low odds he would lose to all of them.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2020, 06:31Ah ok, I don’t venture in here too often but Khabitch probably tells me all I need to knowOnetimeonly wrote: ↑19 Jan 2020, 06:23
