Alvarez vs Saunders rumour was fake
May is closer i am curious who will be Canelo next oponent. De la Hoya talked about Saunders is not even in frontrunners group and Charlo turned down offer. Maybe hes waiting for Andrade?

I've seen De La Hoya denying Saunders being considered for Canelo's next opponent, but I've not read anything about Charlo rejecting an offer from GBP (supplied by a credible source).
Can you please provide a link?

It is really bad because Canelo - Charlo would be most interesting fight for me

It’s interesting to see Oscar De La Hoya arguing that fighters that choose to demand big purses to face Canelo are essentially pricing themselves out of fights, as some sort of dishonest way to avoid facing the Mexican star.
Like Eddie Hearn previously claimed when he openly-admitted to low-balling Dillian Whyte, the GBP boss argues that any challengers to the biggest name in his stable should simply compete for the glory and then the money will come.
It’s also interested to see De La Hoya refrain from detailing the timing or the monetary value of the offer that Charlo’s handlers allegedly rejected, since the GBP boss is eluding to the fact that Al Haymon was actually responsible for rejecting the offer.
I guess there are two schools of thought:
• We’ve previously seen promoters admittedly submit low-ball offers and then subsequently proclaim "duck" whenever they're rejected.
• Alternatively, whilst all fighters deserve to be paid their financial worth, since they’re the ones taking all the risks, they need to invest in themselves and earn the big-payday opportunities, even if it means they have to occasionally compromise their financial demands.
In terms of the GBP-Canelo-Charlo situation, I’d like to hear the PBC's side of the story before I formulate an opinion.
Re: Alvarez vs Saunders rumour was fake
I would like to see him against Charlo, Andrade, Saunders, Derevyanchenko, Benavidez or Eubank. Hopefully it wont be Lemieux, Murata, Callum Smith, Ryder or Munguia
Re: Alvarez vs Saunders rumour was fake
Be enlightened and research how much Canelo made against Maywether to Mayweather's purse, and what he made against Cotto to Cotto's purse.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑21 Jan 2020, 05:10Thanks for providing the video so quickly. It’s appreciated.![]()

You have all these fighters waiting around on Canelo avoiding each other. They should learn from Canelo and how he got where he is at.

Re: Alvarez vs Saunders rumour was fake
Assuming Jermall Charlo and Billy Joe Saunders are out of the running, my guess is that any of the following fighters could become Canelo’s next opponent: Demetrius Andrade, David Benavidez and Callum Smith.
In terms of the other guys you’ve name:
• Sergiy Derevyanchenko = Has just recently tasted defeat to two fighters that Canelo has already beaten. The Ukraine does not have a winning record
• Chris Eubank Jr. = Does not hold a title and has a fairly unimpressive resume, despite being a commercially popular fighter
• David Lemieux = Does not hold a title, has a fight lined-up for February and won't be deemed as a credible opponent that can be competitive
• Ryota Murata = The Japanese fighter wants to face Canelo or Golovkin, but he only holds a junior title. He is a commercially viable opponent though (only if the bout was staged in his homeland)
• John Ryder = Does not hold a title nor a decent victory on his resume and is not considered a big-name commercially
• Jaime Munguia = Apart from being a fellow Mexican, which might bode well for a Cinco de Mayo bout, he is not a credible 160lb-er (since all he’s achieved as a middleweight is to struggle to beat a fighter that other 160lb-ers defeated with ease, such as: David Lemieux, Chris Eubank Jr. and Billy Joe Saunders)

Re: Alvarez vs Saunders rumour was fake
Callum Smith has just told the media that he’s unlikely to become Canelo’s next opponent. He says that the bout doesn’t make sense at the moment.
So it seems that Canelo won't be facing Jermall Charlo, Callum Smith or Billy Joe Saunders next.
Does this mean that David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade are the current front runners in line to face Canelo?

I don't know if we can now trust what DLH says regarding Canelo plans taking into account a severe cooldown in their relationships. Here is another source:

I'd imagine I have about as much influence on Canelo's decision on who he fights as much as Oscar

Your influence is zero, while Oscar's may be negative. Canelo may decide to fight BJS (who was approved by his trainers) just to displease Oscar.handsofstone wrote: ↑21 Jan 2020, 17:21 I'd imagine I have about as much influence on Canelo's decision on who he fights as much as Oscar

If there was a single world champ at super middle, say ring champ c smith, that would be something to aim for.
