Jermall vs Sergiy would be a good fight.

“Sergiy Derevyanchenko has been elevated to No. 1 in the updated WBC middleweight rankings. Jermall Charlo has yet to make a mandatory defense of his WBC middleweight title, paving the way for a likely fight between Charlo and Derevyanchenko in 2020. Both are PBC fighters,” said @MikeCoppinger.

Sergy Derevyanchenko and Jermall Charlo are affiliated with Al Haymon.
So we have to assume there must be a reason for this manoeuvre, based on the PBC’s close ties with the WBC, which means that it’s highly-likely that Derevyanchenko won’t become Canelo’s next opponent (since the “Franchise” isn’t obliged to face any ranked contenders).
Therefore, I’d expect the PBC to announce a Charlo- Derevyanchenko fight fairly soon.
It would be a great barometer to gauge Charlo’s fighting prowess in comparison to the 2018 version of Danny Jacobs (which I believe is better than the current iteration) and GGG.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't owe dazn a fight, so this is unlikely to happen next.

In order for Danny Jacobs and Gennadiy Golovkin (both contractually-tied to DAZN) to gain ownership of the vacant IBF title, they were forced to face Sergiy Derevyanchenko, since the Ukraine was the mandated challenger.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑22 Jan 2020, 08:24I'd be surprised if he doesn't owe dazn a fight, so this is unlikely to happen next.
And all PBC fighters are promotional and network free agents. The Ukraine was never tied to DAZN, Matchroom or GBP.
Derevyanchenko also appeared on a PBC fight card immediately between the Jacobs and Golovkin bouts.
I suspect that Sergiy would have only been obliged to appear on DAZN again had he beaten GGG (via an immediate rematch clause), but he didn’t, so he remains a network free agent.
There are no external parties preventing the staging of a potential bout between Sergy Derevyanchenko and Jermall Charlo.

Yup. But I think more that Charlo and his handlers are more interested to get Eubank Jr who is a good opponent but not that proven and tested like Derevyanchenko who is a high risk and low reward type of fighter.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑22 Jan 2020, 08:16 Sergy Derevyanchenko and Jermall Charlo are affiliated with Al Haymon.
