I think Dubois has to win by stoppage if he's going to beat Joyce and with DDD's power it's always possible.

I don't like the fact Joyce will have been out of the ring 9 months by April 2020 because Joe has benefited hugely from being active.

That said, Joyce represents a big step up for DDD and if The Juggernaut can withstand the early bombs I take Joe to bludgeon Dubois to defeat.
Joyce fought in July against Jennings. But DDD fought twice since then.

True, but he fought that horribly overmatched Japanese lad and Ebeneezer Scrooge. I don't know what he would have learned from either fight.

True ,, there waste of time fights , grab a payday fights , to improve he would be better of getting some hard sparring , But its a sign of the times , pad the record , do a lot of talking , either manager or boxer , create an interest , then get paid well to get belted when you step up

In fairness, Dubois is also a step up for Joyce

In the pros, but he's beat higher level opponents in the ams and WSB.

I'm not convinced DDD is a step up for Joyce. It's debatable, but not the other way around.

Nah, Dubois would beat Jennings more convincingly than Joyce did.

Tough tough fight for both but not one that propels them into world title contention due to their short pro careers.

I hate the over marination of big fights but although this is a great match up it’s not the big fight it should be.

I’d go with Joyce, he’s been in deep for a long time, experienced and as fit as hell. While Dubois shows much promise, he has not been tested.

It IS debateable, but DDD wins the debate.
Yes, DDD could be an untested hype-job with one win at British (English?) level ,but he probably isn't.
He'd be a big favourite to beat Jennings and odds on to do it in better style than The Juggernaut.
This is the first time Joyce has fought a young unbeaten with a realistic chance of getting to the top.

Really good close fight where all 5 outcomes could happen. :box:

Frank W provides update on Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce

"Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce is coming along nicely", allegedly confirms

In allegedly's newest column, he provided an update on the biggest domestic fight of 2020 between British heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (14-0, 13KOs) and WBA Gold champion Joe Joyce (10-0, 9KOs).

The Hall of Fame promoter announced, "The biggest one [fight] on the domestic front is coming along nicely and hopefully we will be in a position to share some good news in the not too distant future.

"Daniel Dubois v Joe Joyce is an absolute banger of a fight between two heavyweights of enormous potential and pedigree. It is the biggest fight to be made for either of them so it needs to happen.

"I hear the argument over where would be left for Joe to go should he be defeated by a much younger man in Daniel. It is nonsense to say it would be fatal for his career.

"Joe is a top-drawer operator, an elite amateur who has taken the plunge right from the beginning in the professional game. It is never a just a loss that affects a fighter’s prospects, it is how you lose and who against.

"There would be no shame in losing to Daniel, or vice-versa. If you make a big fight that the public want to see then somebody has got to lose on the majority of occasions.

"In any case, certainly in the heavyweight division, one win and you are right back in the thick of it. You put it down to experience and the proof of the pudding is someone like Dereck Chisora, who has had multiple opportunities to come again.

"What is for sure is there would be no turning back for either Daniel or Joe once this fight is in place. It will be big, meaningful fights all the way to the top for our big fellas."

'Dynamite' Dubois has collected nine heavyweight titles so far in his career in this exact order: WBC Youth; Southern Area; English; WBO European; WBO Global; British; WBO International; Commonwealth; WBC Silver.

'Juggernaught' Joyce has so far claimed the Commonwealth heavyweight title in just his third professional fight and the WBA Continental and Gold straps.

Joyce has already defeated a former world champion when he obliterated Bermane Stiverne in six rounds in 2019.

Sounds like Fwank thinks this one is in the bag for Dubois. I wouldn't be pleased reading that if I were Joyce. "You can come again!" Great. Thanks.

Depends on Joyce's chin whether he gets stopped or loses a decision.

He’ll be blundering onto a lot of power shots for sure.

Also depends on how sturdy Dubois is.

True, Joyce doesn't lack power or ambition.

The promoter knows who is going to win when he matches two of his fighters in situations like these.

This is a higher version of Dubois Gorman. Frank knows Dubois has this

Big noises being made about Hrgovic , didn't look that special to me in his last fight .
Be a good fight if it can be made .
