The last Pacquiao v Marquez fight. Was WIDE awake when that right hand landed. Also Wilder v Fury, although I was outraged at the scores.
Re: Fights you are glad you stayed up for
I stayed up for that one myself. Was in total shock seeing Pac face down and not moving at the time.MarkMcBurney wrote: ↑26 Jan 2020, 07:29 The last Pacquiao v Marquez fight. Was WIDE awake when that right hand landed. Also Wilder v Fury, although I was outraged at the scores.

All the Barrera Morales fights. The third one i was at some tarts house a couple of towns away with my mate who was in other room with her pal. I did the deed to this terror hawk then walked through the other room and told my mate we are going. He was raging as he hadn't pumped her yet but he was fannying about. We went to my other mates in time for fight starting and kept drinking and taking the devils dandruff. Me and my mate had season tickets for Ibrox at the time and we were playing Hearts that Sunday. We took this stuff called base before we headed to Govan. Were in boozer at stadium few hours before kick off. I was like the walking dead on the Monday and had to patch working to sleep

Holyfield V Tyson 1.
I thought it was going to be the end of Evander, but it was great to see him systematically beat the fight out of bully boy Tyson.
PS: Corrected as I originally and mistakenly put fight 2.

Tyson's interview after that fight was both hilarious and bizarreSyntax Error wrote: ↑26 Jan 2020, 08:47 Holyfield V Tyson 2.

Bowe vs Holyfield 1. I was half asleep, then it started. Cracking fight it was.

I wasn't surprised by the result of the rematch, as I knew after two rounds of the first fight that Tyson could never beat Holyfield and that he would look for a way out, although I never envisaged that Iron Mike would stoop that low.

Indeed.
Tremendous effort from both men.
Holyfield put a cracking performance in defeat and Bowe showed how great he could be.
It's a real shame that Bowe was so badly advised and that he had embarked upon a civil partnership with his fridge, because he might just have been the best HW of the 90s otherwise.

I decided not to bother thinking Pac was gonna win another close decision, couldn’t believe my eyes the next day when I read the result !Stuarty wrote: ↑26 Jan 2020, 08:06I stayed up for that one myself. Aye true. Was there not suspicions around that Ariza dude that used to work with Pac and Roach?
Re: Fights you are glad you stayed up for
Fury Wilder ,
Fully expected Fury to get ktfo and was surprised and really enjoyed it .
Still think he was robbed and will be staying up for number 2 .
Used to stay up for all of them and even go fishing the next day with no sleep at all .
Not so good on the Monday mind .

Me too! I stayed up for it and was sober and wide awake as soon as that shot put Pacmans lights out. I think I got 5/2 on Marquez that night. Well chuffed he done it in style.MarkMcBurney wrote: ↑26 Jan 2020, 12:26There was a split second when I genuinely thought Pacquiao might be dead!

Re: Fights you are glad you stayed up for
Any Mike Tyson fight. Those were the days of heavyweight boxing. Incidentally i didnt stay up for the Douglas fight as I was on a 6am start at work and when I checked teletext I couldnt believe it and was disappointed i didnt stay up.
Holyfield v Bert Cooper was a decent scrap and well worth stopping up for. I stayed up for the Tyson v Bruno 1 fight but only commentary on Radio 5. Harry Carpenter was a decent commentator.
