Looked like he kinda put his mouth on it without biting down too hard. Pretty damn weird thing to do.
That whole card was dogshit and it's very lamentable how Showtime has allowed itself to become the dumping ground for PBC's trash.

25 pounds in 8 weeks isn't that unusual. Assuming it was 15 first week and 10 the last few days. Normal grueling modern cut.

Still wasn't able to stop the smaller opponent. Zlaticanin and Molina Jr stopped Redkach.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Jan 2020, 07:37 Garcia's overwhelming dominance was illustrated in the CompuBox statistics. He landed 195 of 568 punches (34%) and Redkach landed only 88 of 578 (15%).

3 fights. All went the distance. Fulton had a good learning fight but Hurd and Garcia usually stop these types of opponents.jujigatame wrote: ↑26 Jan 2020, 11:14Looked like he kinda put his mouth on it without biting down too hard. Pretty damn weird thing to do.

Garcia was rambling on about being the first to stop Granados, but he couldn’t stop Red.
He was relying on a ref stoppage and looked desperate at time’s.

This fight was a failure for Garcia. He had a huge size advantage over Redkach and should have put this guy away in about 6 rounds ...I hate mismatches in boxing...becomes like bull fighting when you pretty much know the outcome, and is just a way to watch a beat down..

Thats not really very bad. considering the MMA guys loose it in a day (witch is horrible). but assuming he was just a bit fat. pretty comfortable losing 2 pounds a week, then having a 9 pound water cut. or 3 pounds a week, no water cut...Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Jan 2020, 07:36 Apparently Garcia had to lose 25 pounds in 8 weeks to make weight.
when yoel fought costa in MMA costa weighted in 185, then entered the ring 213... so a 28 pound water cut.. admitadly he is bigger. but at the same weight, Sadiq weighed in 145 and came in at 169... 24 pound water cut. For me thats got no place in boxing and the negitive outweighs the advantage (in boxing).

Garcia actually used it as an excuse post fight though. Saying it didn’t help his performance. So I would say it this case it’s a little bad.gregregegg wrote: ↑27 Jan 2020, 00:54Thats not really very bad. considering the MMA guys loose it in a day (witch is horrible). but assuming he was just a bit fat. pretty comfortable losing 2 pounds a week, then having a 9 pound water cut. or 3 pounds a week, no water cut...Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Jan 2020, 07:36 Apparently Garcia had to lose 25 pounds in 8 weeks to make weight.

I finally got to watch this card.
What a pile of crap it was.
Hurd weight bully's his way through a toddler, and Garcia proves he isn't a threat to anyone meaningful.
What a waste of my evening.

Tend to agree. I think hurd looked huge compared to his mediocre opponent. When your that much bigger even against someone good it should be a beating (loma vs ringo or spence vs mikey). against someone average, should be able to end it quick.
Danny seemed to struggle with the southpaw. Not great considering the biggest 3 fights left in the division for him are southpaws.

Danny Garcia starts too slow.
Guy compromises 2-4 rounds off of the bat, he could lose those rounds.
His boxing ability has become limited.

That seems way over the top to deduct his whole purse, dude didn't even get a point deducted. Worse fouls and drug failures happen all the time without nearly as harsh treatment. I mean, would you rather be nibbled or have your balls smashed? Redkach still fought 36 minutes and made a lot of people money by being there
The commission getting that money?

A source with knowledge of the situation told ESPN on Thursday that Redkach had already deposited his check for $300,000.

It was definitely a strange thing to have done but he didn't break skin or anything and trying to effectively fine him $300K is way over the top. I hope he keeps the money although if the ruling stands it could compromise any future career he has in the US.

That was his purse, they took it all plus a 10k fine on top, all for that nibble
