Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - TBA
I think at this point hrgovic has to take it. there isnt exactly a line of people wanting to fight him. needs belts and to get belts he needs mandatorys. if he turns down this chance it could be a while befor another. unless he wins olyimpic gold in japan, that would throw him in the spotlight i guess.

If I were team Hegovic I’d be going for this fight.

Who won in the WSB?
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - TBA
Joyce beat him pretty comfortably but it ended up an SD to Joyce.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - TBA
We simply don't know how good Dubois is yet, as he's not been tested. The only named opponent he's fought has been Kevin Johnson, which he got a points win over.
I don't know why so many on social media think Dubois is a clear favourite at this stage. Joyce has wins against top level opponents in the ams and so far a more impressive pro record.

Fair point. To me Dubois looks the real deal.
Had he remained am, he’d have beat them all easily. He turned over very young. Dubois was a pro before Joyce even laced the gloves up, infact I believe Dubois is the age now when Joyce first began boxing.
I think he’s beat both Joyce and Hrgovic, even now.

Dubs beat a guy in a tournament who then went on to win the ABA the next year after Dubs went pro, and Frazier Clark admits a teenage Dub dropped him and hit super hard
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - TBA
Don't get me wrong, I do think Dubois is a talent. I do think he's better than his current record shows, but nearly all top level guys have a string of easy KOs for their first dozen or so fights.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑25 Jan 2020, 20:38Verdi wrote: ↑25 Jan 2020, 11:20 We simply don't know how good Dubois is yet, as he's not been tested. I do think DDD would beat most of the same guys as Joyce had in the ams, although I'm not sure he'd have beat Majidov.
As I've said, if he does a job on Joyce, I'll certainly jump aboard the hype train, I've just not seen anything that makes me jump aboard just yet.
He has a lack of head movement and defence as seen in the Lartey fight and I don't believe his power is that amazing, else he'd have got Johnson out. He is however a potentially brilliant talent for the future.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - TBA
terms agreed for 18th April. O2 Arena London
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - TBA
its not really a great fight, 2 dull boxers with no personality or appeal. I think the selling point is the punch power really. I hope its not PPV but I imagine it could well be.

Not a dull fight in the ring at all, big deal if they don't cook 'beef' with each other before the fight

I never said it was going to be a dull fight.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑27 Jan 2020, 15:57Not a dull fight in the ring at all, big deal if they don't cook 'beef' with each other before the fight

Doubt you would get big sales on ppv for this fight.handsofstone wrote: ↑27 Jan 2020, 16:56 Its PPV apparently, strange move but i stopped being surprised at these things years ago, I love this fight

Nah it'll bomb no doubt mate, bad call from BT, this wouldve been a great opportunity to introduce both guys to a bigger audience and the winner could go on to make a name especially if the younger Dubois wins, putting on ppv just hides this fight away from casualsThereByTheGrace wrote: ↑27 Jan 2020, 18:25Doubt you would get big sales on ppv for this fight.handsofstone wrote: ↑27 Jan 2020, 16:56 Its PPV apparently, strange move but i stopped being surprised at these things years ago, I love this fight

Yeh, they should save ppv for a world title fight if that. These types of fights, although you could say they are big names domestically, should be available to as many people as possible. If it was let's say 2 years later and for a world title, then fair enough.handsofstone wrote: ↑28 Jan 2020, 04:05Nah it'll bomb no doubt mate, bad call from BT, this wouldve been a great opportunity to introduce both guys to a bigger audience and the winner could go on to make a name especially if the younger Dubois wins, putting on ppv just hides this fight away from casuals
You also have ticket prices too. Wonder what they'll be prived at.
