Oh for sure it could be, but I just don't think 'so and so does better the second time' is a valid argument in their favour when the other guy does too
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - February 22, 2020
It isn't. I concur. Also two rematches is too small a sample size anyway.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Jan 2020, 15:34 Oh for sure it could be, but I just don't think 'so and so does better the second time' is a valid argument in their favour when the other guy does too

I like when there is content in these forums. Well done by both men. Lindsey Nelson would be proud of Fury's garb.

PPV undercard set for Feb.22
With less than a month to go before February 22, the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury 2 rematch pay-per-view section of the undercard is set, according to @MikeCoppinger. Top Rank will have 2 fights that they’re in control of in the undercard, and PBC adding one.
These are the three pay-per-view fights on the undercard:
Emanuel Navarette (30-1, 26 KOs) faces Jeo Tupas Santisima (19-2, 16 KOs). This is the Top Rank addition to the undercard. Adding Navarette to the card is a nice move on Bob Arum’s part. #5 WBC Santisima, 23, is a good fighter, and he hasn’t lost a fight in six years. Santisima, who comes from the Philippines, has won his last 17 fights, albeit against lesser opposition. His most notable win was against journeyman Uriel Lopez in 2018.
Charles Martin (27-2-1, 24 KOs) fights former world title challenger Gerald Washington (20-3-1, 13 KOs) in an IBF heavyweight title eliminator. This is the PBC addition to the PPV section of the card. Martin, 33, is a former IBF world champion. Since losing his belt to Anthony Joshua in 2016, Martin has won 4 out of his last 5 fights. His only loss in the last 4 years was a close 10 round unanimous decision to Adam Kownacki in 2018. The 6’6″ Washington is coming off of a big win over Robert Helenius last July in Minnesota.
Sebastian Fundora (13-0-1, 9 KOs) will be fighting Daniel Lewis (6-6). This fight likely won’t last long. Fundora can punch, and Lewis will be there for as long as he can.
Junior middleweight contender Subriel Mathias could be on the undercard as well, but not on the pay-per-view portion unfortunately.
“Sources: PBC & Top Rank will go head to head in a bout set to open the #WilderFury2 PPV undercard with terms agreed to:

Flores vs Conway, Romero vs Ahmetovs Set For Wilder-Fury Card
Boxing Scene has been advised that unbeaten lightweight prospect Gabriel Flores Jr. (16-0) will return to the ring on February 22nd on the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury 2 undercard. Wilder-Fury and 3 other fights will make up the entire pay-per-view card that is being distributed by ESPN and FOX from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Standing across the ring from Flores will be Matt Conway (17-1) who suffered his first career loss in his most recent fight against Francisco Esparza by split decision.
FOX and ESPN will both televise the non pay-per-view undercard with this being one of the fights from the Top Rank side. BS.com has also learned that one of PBC's fights will pit hard hitting lightweight prospect Rolando "Rolly" Romero (10-0) against Arturs Ahmetovs (5-0).
The 19-year-old Flores was in action 5 times last year while Conway went 2-1 in 2019.
Romero won all 3 of this 2019 fights via knockout while the 30-year-old Ahmetovs turned pro in March and won his first 2 bouts by stoppage.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - February 22, 2020
British featherweight Isaac Lowe (19-0-3, 6 KOs), a stablemate of lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, will face a foe to be determined in one of the preliminary bouts Top Rank is responsible for on the Deontay Wilder-Fury 2 card Feb. 22 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, a source with knowledge of the plans told ESPN. Lowe has won decisions on Fury's previous two undercards in June and September. Top Rank, putting on the card with Premier Boxing Champions, already has its other two preliminary bouts set: Amir Imam-Javier Molina (at 142 pounds), according to Imam manager Peter Kahn, and junior lightweight prospect Gabriel Flores Jr.-Matt Conway, according to Flores manager Rick Mirigian.

This is the first major superfight of the new 20s. Since well, how did it come to that Dempsey was the champ about 100 years ago on this day. And we all know who loved Dempsey way of fighting and destroying his oppenents, Mike Tyson. And we all know who is named after Mike.
Life is stranger then fiction. Just tought about it. So weird.

Joshua's talking a lot of sense there so far as I'm concerned.

With an undercard like that, who of our American friends expects to get good value for their hard earned $75?

I'll tell you one thing, ESPN did some great promoting tonight. They just replayed the first fight where a Kobe special was advertised.

There’s gonna be a little promotion for this during the Super Bowl right? Look forward to seeing what they do

AL didn't want the meeting. Dibella pushed for it. Then it made wilder look like a punk when they said no to that deal.
Then showtime had to massively overpay wilder which pissed off showtime.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - February 22, 2020

Hiding the gut no doubt. Anyway as he's said he is training for the KO hence the weight. Let's hope it's not an issue going the distance for him then, as I suspect he will be blowing out of his harris now. Let's hope that he's not training for his own KO here.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - February 22, 2020
He looks in better shape. Much better definition on the arms and shoulders.
He'll always be a bit fleshy around the middle.
Anyway, best not to read too much into these types of photos. Remember Ruiz recently!

Anybody think waiting made this fight bigger? I wouldn't be surprised if it sold less than the first one.
