I got this from the current scene and I know many of you here don't venture over there so I thought I would share this with you.

Just proves Hopkins has not always been a safety first operator, anyone who had seen his first fight with Segundo Mercado would have known that, i feel Bernard had the technical ability and ringcraft to rival the best of his generation. As he grew older and wiser he naturally slowed down, sometimes to snail pace!

Hopkins-Trinidad is still one of my favourite fights (along with Barrera-Morales 1) as he put on a Boxing exhibition that night against a feared p4p puncher.

Just a side note, in this clip what is Hopkins nickname announced as?

Jesus he already looks like a badass in there, although it is strange to see him being such an aggresive puncher given the way he has fought in the last few years

Hopkins was really messy in the 1st Mercado. it was the rematch that he showed p4p potential. absolute killer of a right hand, he showed. slashed it on mercado like a flick knife. Hopkins was a classy boxer and an intimidating guy who could smother and bully you in his peak. I love his performances against Glen Johnson & Andrew Cuncil, as well as the 2nd Robert Allen fight. on that form the DLH's and Tito's would've been beaten in 1/2 the time
