Mexico City is 2000 miles from Tijuana :o

Didn't realize the distance was that great.

Physically it is those aggressive grinders who are strong and throw a lot, but don't have the power to take you out quick.

Yeah the sustained beatings over the course of several rounds are definitely the worst thing for your health.

Even though it was very late in his career, Ali losing to Leon Spinks was down right embarrassing.

I have to agree. Looking at Leon's over all career now it was a disgrace to lose to him

It makes sense to me that a prolonged beating (without a ko) would be worse for you compared to a quick ko but is this the case? Any neuroscientists here?

WTF is wrong with losing to Mickey Ward? He was an excellent fighter

I tthink he means more stylistically, like you will take a gruelling beating from Ward but are more likely to just be jabbed and moved by the others

Excellent is a bit kind to Mickster

Eric Crumble is generally regarded as the worst. https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/5316

He did manage one win, but its not on his boxrec record. Think he is like 1-40 with a no contest and all losses by KO and never made the 3rd round.

You need confirmation? Guys dying or suffering life altering injuries isn't convincing enough for ya?

Leavander Johnson, Magomedov, Adonis Stevenson, Gerald McClellan, Benny Paret

It was almost never the result of a quick KO early in the fight.

Patrick Day, Max Dadashev, Oscar Diaz, Z Gorres, the guy in Argentina last year, the guy Kov killed, Kim duk koo, Frida Wallberg, Mike Towell. There was a friend of Stevekrazy who went into a coma after losing an 8 round decision the other week too.

Pretty much all the deaths or major injuries I can think of were these beatdown type of fights that go rounds or see the guy take lots of shots rather than just getting wiped out quickly with a few shots

I would give a thumbs up for supplying more evidence as to my point, but it doesn't seem appropriate given the subject we're discussing.

So I'll just say. Yes, you are correct.

Yeah I meant that. I mean even in sparring when you lose to a jab and move guy you dont feel like a car hit you but if you fight some brutal in fighter or puncher and even if you win and they only have few moments to shine it still sucks more.

The question is 'Who are the worst guys to lose to in boxing ever?' not what's the most damaging type of fight to compete in...

Or just look like trash against anyone is enough really. Even worse when it is a nobody who is also limited.
Getting beat up in your prime is one thing and getting smashed in the end of the road is another.
