It seems to be accepted that Jan/Feb are quiet months for boxing but this year has been exceptionally bad .
I still don't get why fighters at British / commonwealth /European level can't get fights more regularly .
It must be a promotional thing because I'm sure the boxers themselves would welcome the fights and the potential to earn .

Think this is the key point. Fights are seemingly harder than ever to make happen.

10 years ago there was a Friday Fight Night on Sky every weekend featuring British title fights, domestic clashes and even some world title fights too.

Some of the fights might not have been great on paper but there were loads of really great fights to watch.

We barely get 2 weekends of decent TV cards a month these days.

Many of those fight cards of yesteryear would now be PPV events.

I think now boxers expect bigger pay and it requires bigger events / ppv to generate the money being demanded.

Some of the best fights I've ever seen were British title fights , it's largely undervalued nowadays which is a real shame .

Eddie Hearn, my arse. You have to be pretty specialist if Barry Hearn's your dad and you're still the less likeable one.

Its down to so many different things. First and foremost its a business, both fighter and promoter are in it for the coin. One reason is often due to promoters milking as much out of their asset as possible, and too often fighters are happy to go along with it. Look at Kell Brooks career, we are supposed to applaud him as he went in against Golovkin. Big effin deal. For such a long career, and such a talanted fighter, all he has achieved is a razor thin decision over Porter. So many making money fights, i honestly could not care less about what he is doing tonight. I would not mind see'ing him get sparked actually, to help put an end to this sad story.

Ward did what he does.
Easily World Title level skillz, wrapped in a slightly weedy, perhaps chinny body.

120-106 x3 and he nearly got the stoppage, but always with the slight danger he'd get chinned. Good watch
