Anthony yarde

Post by Onetimeonly »

I just noticed he's fighting in Spain today. Who's his promoter? Seems odd he wouldn't be coming back to add to another bill.

Surprised he isn't on the 22nd York Hall bill (which is awful going by boxrec) He's probably been enjoying the pay day he got from his last fight

Is it the EBU or WBO where you can't fight for the title coming off a loss? Maybe they are going for that next or another belt with the same requirement and want to get the win as soon as possible?

Liam Smith (an underrated fighter btw) when he was with Fr@nk did the same thing with getting a random win in Spain, then fighting Williams for the interim WBO. I wouldn't be surprised if Yarde has some sort of interim vacant WBO fight in the works. Canely did vacant didn't he

Needs a win to be eligable for a wbo title shot and I guess this is low key enough that he will not be hammered for the level of opponent.

I guess it's cheap to toss on a fight in Spain.

I would not fancy being the journeyman lined up for Yarde's comeback win :o

Won in Round 2 with KO in Spanish Nightclub.

He needed the win to be allowed final eliminator for WBO.

Smart move. Who’s he likely to fight for WBO rankings/vacant belt?

So it's a clever ploy for a quick fix to get to a title belt contention?

Loopholes int he system :D

See how he goes on from here.

The other champions would smash Yarde just now. He has to get some decent experience at domestic/euro level under his belt first then have a run at the champs.

Yeah you have to have W in the column or WBO won’t let you challenge from a Loss. As said before Liam Smith done it under FW as well.
