“I’m out of contract now with Eddie Hearn, but I believe he still wants to work with me,”
He believes , Eddie still wants to work with him ,, So dispite being his promoter since he turned pro , Eddis has'nt spoke to him ,,, This demonstrates clearly why loyalty to promoters does'nt happen often , clearly demonstrates how loyal they are in return , With Hearn and promoters its just a case of ,,, Off you go , "NEXT "

Eddeh signed one of Charlie's daddies

The trouble with the Edwards brothers they have got zero drawing power. Rare a fighter under featherweight to be a PPV fighter over here.

He should just retire after that love letter to the wbc. Cringe.

Does he sell many tickets?
It will be tough for him to headline big shows and earn the cash.
Was he earning for than 50k for his defences?
These type of fighters typically get their work on big shows being the third of 3 world title fights on the bill.

It's the entertainment business and this boy just ain't entertaining. Eddies got bigger things to worry about like you tubers fighting each other
Re: Charlie Edwards To Return in April, Free Agent at The Moment
He has no selling power. He also posted on Twitter that the rumours of him vacating to avoid a rematch with Julio Cesar Martinez were false. The very next day he vacates to avoid Julio Cesar Martinez.
So the little fans he had he's lost. Throwing away a world title never goes down well with anyone. His title defence against Martinez was a 3 round demolition job in which Edwards was totally exposed.
Where do you do with a fighter like that? Eddie doesn't know because if he did. He would have him signed to a 2-3 fight deal.

It's rare for fighters from the UK under 9 stone to make money/following over here. Edwards should have took the rematch in Mexico or fight in the states, maybe he should sign with Mick Hennessy to get main event or he will be buried on an undercard with another promoter or topping a youtube main event with a small purse.
Re: Charlie Edwards To Return in April, Free Agent at The Moment
All of the above. Hardly anyone wants to watch him perform and the perceived antics in the Martinez fight has turned the fans off even more. I think he's really going to regret that night. for the rest of his career.

Hardly going to be in demand and it’s going to take some work to rebuild.

I think Hearn had a plan. Edwards obviously didnt fancy it, probably for the best, and Hearn doesnt really have a need for him now.Exoddus wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 08:45 He has no selling power. You can’t be messing about if you want to make decent money down at those weights, to stand out you’ve got to take on the big dogs of which there are a few, you haven’t got the luxury of taking easy fights like the bigger guys, you’ve got to be prepared to travel and take big challenges, it’s a tough life down there but that’s the way it is
Re: Charlie Edwards To Return in April, Free Agent at The Moment
SSR would have messed up Edwards something fierce man! If that was Eddies plan then he was throwing him to the wolves anyway.
