Like all other of Tyson’s fights, the highlight reel (including pre-fight high junks and post-fight sing song) looks good, but it isn’t that good if you sit through the actual fight.

All this talk having a sluggfest is pure bull .
I'm not so sure, Wilder looks so spindly - IF (I know he never really has/does) Fury puts it on him I can't see why Wilder can't be KO'ed, worn down, worn out etc.

I would love to see what happens if Fury went to fight inside and try to smother him and lean on him and stay there, so many people seem to think you have to box and move and be negative vs big hitters, but going inside their favoured range can make a big difference too. If there is any top fighter who is 1 dimensional in the distance he punches from it's Wilder, if Fury is on the outside he's also right at the end of the big bronze blast

Would love to see Tyson batter the dosser but I can see a spectacular Wilder KO. Hope I'm wrong.

See it going the same way as the Ortiz ll fight. Fury to win the first half comfortably before getting KO’d. Wilder 7-9 KO.

I'm not especially excited, but I am interested in the variables at play. For instance, I've a feeling that Wilder might be one of those super-rare fighters who loses power with increased weight, at the same time as tiring faster. (I've always felt that Haye punched harder at 210 than 224, but I don't know how much of that was down to injuries.)

And Wilder's showing the first signs of ageing for me, but then I've been around boxing long enough to not overinvest in training footage. Age will get to him sooner than others, though. On the other hand, he came in light against Stiverne, Ortiz and Fury in their first fights, and might do the triple here of winning faster at a higher weight. I think he fully intends to be heavier against Fury this time, but that's no guarantee he will be.

But let's say he is, because I've said that Fury survived in no small part from outhustling Wilder in clinches. Only now I'm doubting myself in case he's gone a bit too far and sacrificed his stamina.

As for tactics, I'm certain that Fury's hoping for a rerun of the 12th with more time left to run, because he's probably only stopping Wilder if he gasses, and if too much weight accelerates that... I'd recommend Wilder aim for 220-224, 'cause I think 230's an error unless he gets lucky. His legs ain't gonna be much bigger, after all.

I was thinking of staying up for this fight, not done that in ages, but at £25, it's taking the piss again. I'm with Virgin, so they will probably add another £1-£2 on like they do with the sky PPV's.

Like a few guys have mentioned, my interest is slowly dying in the sport and it's because of the greedy bastards in charge IMO.

There was even a song at the end, but I couldn't translate its brilliance to the written page. :-P

On paper I feel like Wilder's the heavy favourite, but I find it as easy to imagine Fury tying him until he's knackered as getting sparked. We all know what Fury does at this point, but Wilder's still mercurial to me.

Its just that reading your original post, I changed my mind about 3 times
Which made me wonder what the heck you were thinking, as in thinking yourself around in circles.
If I can put my finger on it, I would say that the variables have huge consequences in tr outcome- from both sides.

For my money Fury is getting a bit complacent again, and having the fight so close to the festive period leads me to suspect his weight and conditioning will again be moving in the wrong direction. He should have just tried to replicate the physical shape of his fight with Klitschko.

Have to disagree sir, the weight he came in for the Klitschko fight was at 26

At 31 nearing 32 with a 6ft9 frame 260-270 feels realistic but we will find out on Friday weighin

Instagram can be deceiving but Fury looks in excellent shape

More than the arms its the legs that get Fury out of trouble in this fight!

His body looks almost Wlad like there....much more defined muscle in the arms and legs than usual, hell, even a touch of vascularity! He is always with an unappeling midsection and will prob look worse once the shirt is off, but at least for him he looks well on track

I absolutely hate the shorts Tyson Fury wears. He’s always got tiny little ones on and they look disgusting on a bit fat hairy man.

When he wears a loose top with them he looks like Winnie the fukin Pooh

I thought Fury would stop Wilder the first fight and I was proven wrong, but I think he'll get the job done in this one. Wilder is such a terrible boxer. People go on about Fury "doing what he's always done" like the "herky-jerky" was the only way he's ever fought. But he only fought like that for the first time against Klitschko, and then has kind of kept it since. The rematch with Chisora he didn't fight like that and I don't remember all that showboating being such a thing either. He just boxed and beat Chisora up until he stopped him. If you've followed Fury's career you'll know he's fought using all sorts of different styles: even when I wasn't very high on him he surprised me by coming out Southpaw against Rogan. People talk about Wilder's beard which seems decent but just from memory Fury has some decent KO's from body shots. I just think he's talented enough to come in with something new, beat Wilder up and stop him late. I'm thinking a bit like Calzaghe-Lacy. The gap in talent is just as wide.

Late round mercy stoppage. You can remind me of this if Wilder gets the win and I'll wind my neck in. I also think Joyce does Dubois too. Let's see.

I have a sneaky feeling Wilder will KO Fury this time around, I think he'll come from behind to do it but just feel that Fury wont be so lucky this time, I'm hoping Fury does it and he can easily outbox Wilder but Wilder can do nothing then bang its over, he was awful in the Ortiz rematch, that right hand was the only success he had all night, it was all he needed TBF and I think its all he'll need here

Fury's saying he's going for the KO hence the reason he's at the Kronk but you never take him seriously, I doubt he knows himself how he's gonna fight, he did hurt Wilder in the first fight after the knockdown in the last round so I wouldn't be surprised if Fury KOs Wilder either, its a tough pick, could be over in a round or go the distance, I'm going for Wilder KO but defo rooting for Fury here, I cant stand Wilder

It's the only way I've seen him fight anyone close to his own size who poses a threat. His reach advantage over Chisora is the best part of a foot.
handsofstone wrote: 16 Feb 2020, 16:43he did hurt Wilder in the first fight after the knockdown in the last round so I wouldn't be surprised if Fury KOs Wilder either
If you look at Fury's aggressive moments throughout his career, discounting his badly outmatched opponents, they've all followed a knockdown. He was smart enough to realise offence was the best defence when he saw that Wilder had almost blown himself out in the 12th. Because even though Wilder was almost done, he could've still hurt Fury had he been given enough room to plant his feet.

But in a clinching match there's only one winner, and so Fury kept punching himself into clinches. And Wilder was legit concerned by the end, so I'm certain that this KO chat's just Fury trying to take advantage of that to get in his head. He'll claim it was always intentional to look for an early finish if he manages it, but I don't believe him. I believe he's trained for attrition.

now the fight is close I feel its more likely wilder can land the big KO than it is fury can outbox him for 12 rounds .
if he can it will be some acheivement for sure but it just looks unlikely as does the prospect of fury being able to stop wilder.
