Sorry, if you can't walk straight after an 8 count, you aren't in shape to continue. Perella's corner was furious because there was 1 second left but the ref is not supposed to take the clock into consideration, and you can't be saved by the bell anyway.

He did walk straight, it's when he was asked to do a pirouette is when he stumbled..the ref acknowledged the ten second warning, so he was aware the fight was over..no follow up punches would've occured and no saving by the bell is irrelevant..
So every time a fighter is knocked down in a jack Reiss fight it's gonna be stopped cuz how many knockdown victims can do the moves reiss asks you to do.?

No, he definitely stumbled/wobbled when he was walking.

The ref is not supposed to care how much time is left on the clock. That is irrelevant.

The bell should've sounded at the count of seven as well...the fight was over..

You're right about the bell. He was on his way down with 8 seconds left. Figure 1 more second to hit the deck and he was up at the count of 3. Ref's count of 4-8 would have begun at 2:56, By the time the 8 count was over 3 minutes had elapsed. It seems that "no saving by the bell" isn't relegated to a downed fighter. I guess a ref has to evaluate a man after the end of the mandatory 8 count before the timekeeper can ring the bell , even if 3 minutes elapsed. . If that's correct, imo it's a bad rule. If you're up before 10 and 3 minutes have elapsed the fight is over.

That is the rule. Even if the clock is at 0:00, if the ref thinks you can't continue after the 8 count, you lose.

The kid has no one to blame except himself. If he stayed sharper and didn't allow himself to get hurt, it wouldn't matter.

Yeah, it’s his fault he got caught.... but when a fight is supposed to last 30 minutes...and it’s been 30 minutes and you are standing up...you’ve really done what you should have to do to finish the fight.

To me it seems like if the fighting is already over, a fighter who is up on his feet shouldn't be stopped in a case like this, because all that walk to me stuff is to see if a fighter is safe to continue fighting, but there is no more fighting to be done in this case. I also thought Meldrick Taylor should not have been stopped and that the Bute-Andrade stuff was totally overblown because the time was up anyway even without the ref pausing the count.
