Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - 22 February 2020

At first I thought wilder KO but now I’m edging towards fury points.

Well chaps, I sat through part 1&2 of the lead up TV show.
I learned two things;
1, Fury is in great shape, not just that, but looks healthy as well. Skin, colour, etc. Hiring a nutritional guy has done wonders.
2, Wilder is spending a lot of money. Fancy cars, extravagant jewellery, custom clothes and labeled equipment. The sort of stuff you buy for $100,000 and try and sell for $45,000 when your broke.

Apart from those two things, I'm none the wiser about the fight

Had a dream that Fury had Wilder hurt very early in the fight but got KO'd round 4 or 5. Considering placing 'fliers' on Wilder RD 4 and RD 5.

I think fury will outpoint him. With a few shaky moments but furys a master tactician and will improve. Wilders a one trick pony albeit its a good trick

See Navarrete's been added to this card against another walkover, a Filipino called Jeo Santisima, a couple of points losses when he first turned over but no decent wins that I can see, I like Navarrete and love the fact that he's probably the most active champion around but Bob obviously doesn't fancy him enough to take him seriously and give him a big fight and is happy for him to defend against the likes of Santisima, Horta and Elorde on undercards every few months, shame as he's a capable fighter, beat a very good Dogboe twice but has went off the boil with the opposition since, probably another early stoppage win here

I don't take too much notice of the preview shows tbh, a lot of editing leading to the narrative (theirs) they want you to invest in.

Wilder trains like a beast.

Fury should win on points, Wilder is hopeless.

I find it extraordinary that out of almost 100 voters, not one has picked Wilder on points.

In some regards, I get it. My own view is that Wilder will stop Fury, and accept that if this doesn't happen, then Fury is likely to have outboxed Wilder.

But Wilder got a 115-111 decision in the last fight along with a draw.

Against Ortiz in the second fight, I had him down 6 rounds at the time of the knock-out, whereas another judge had it closer at 56-58.

So, this fight might well go 12 rounds again, and I would not be surprised to see Wilder take a close and controversial decision.

An unrefined puncher can run out of ideas. A master boxer will learn all your moves and start to nullify your work more and more. I bet we can pull up some examples. I really do believe that’s true, but Wilder really does just need one punch.

It’s a great fight, I haven’t got a clue what’s gonna happen!

I am a bit worried about fury coming in heavier and looking for the ko. But I can understand that he doesn't want to run for 12 rounds.
Fury should win, he is the better boxer. But every round will be scary, as a fan.

I think Teddy Atlas was spot on when he said Fury made Wilder miss in the first fight but he didn't make him pay. Fury said that's because his engine wasn't good enough after the lay-off. Sounds credible, but I also think Ben Davison should take some of the blame. In the corner that night, he kept telling Tyson not to get "greedy". He warned Tyson not to take advantage of the "opportunities" he could see. This time, I'm expecting a sharper, more aggressive Fury to punish Wilder's mistakes. I'm picking Fury to crawl off the canvas and stop Wilder in 9.
