Canelo-Golovkin III (September 2020)?

Post by Enlightened-One »

On a separate note, Canelo also stated yesterday that he intended to finish the year by competing in Japan, which I assume means he’ll be facing Ryota Murata in the not too distant future.

Next year he wants to compete in Mexico… and assuming this comes to fruition, GBP might pit him against fellow stablemate and fellow countryman, Jaime Munguia, since this makes the most sense (commercially-speaking).

Thoughts? :-?

Why not? G would accept it at 168 in a in a heartbeat if the money are good. At the end of the day there is no realistic opponent/ fight for GGG and Canelo that could generate more views and money than this. :TU:

They've already given us two great fights. I'm ok with seeing if they can make it three.

Already seen it twice, no way will you see that outcome now, it is nailed on for another Canelo win. The question is can someone finally put GGG down

They have contracts now, not fight by fight and no ppv. I don't think they'd make anymore than fighting anyone else. They could have an upside for subscriptions but that would be pennies.

Canelo and his tag team partner Father Time can finally get a legitimate win this time I'm sure.

Yep. GGG had slipped between he first and second fight. By the time the third fight happens it could be a potential dehabilitating beating for GGG. I don't want to see that, and I'm definitely not paying for the privilege.
Count me out.

True. It was quite obvious with the back to back fights, I guess for me, that reinforced it.

Yeah I think 2015 was G's last year of his prime. Unfortunately people think G didn't look that impressive only because he fought top opponents like Jacobs, Canelo and Derevyanchenko but in reality it was a mix between ageing/fading and the quality of competition. If Canelo and G will fight for the third time I think Canelo has good chances to T/KO old Golovkin.

I think it unlikely he will stop Ggg, but then at 168 he will likely have a big weight advantage, plus its a cash our retirement fight for GGG.

I can see golovkin going balls to the wall for the win.

Trouble is no way golovkin wins a decision, and no way he stops GGG unless he perhaps goes to see Marquez nutritionist.

If not then he’s certainly looking for a decisive win.

But you never know, maybe they’ll always match up closely regardless.
