Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - 22 February 2020
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - 22 February 2020
One of the bookies had Fury 100/1 on stoppage. I thought I could see why. I didn’t expect him to go out and do that. Unbelievable.

I was expecting Wilder to stay on his stool a couple of rounds earlier, he was sat there with his head down and looked well beaten and hurt through most of the fight, back up the bully and they fold, great performance.

Anyone else have a tenner on Fury at 40-1 for a 7th round win?
That's £400 plus a tenner back to buy some baby wipes to get this smug look off of my face

I'll always credit offensive fighters and tonight he took it to Wilder. So i do, but only to an extent, it wasn't exactly an exhibition in clean punching, he bullied, grappled and thudded down on a man 40 pounds lighter than him. Some folk go on like he's a giant hybrid of Floyd and Pacquiao. But that's fine, Fury fans can have their moment, on a win like tonight that's more than fair, I'm just not all that impressed in truth.but Fury fought perfectly tonight - he mauled him like a bear mauling a - I don't know - a tiger - he was just too big and too strong and he wore Wilder out - saying that - that punch that he caught Wilder behind the ear with was a thing a beauty - so accurate and bang on target and Wilder couldn't recover from it.
I thought Wilder was going to win but Fury boxed (mauled) perfectly and got the win against an extremely dangerous fighter, so fair fucks to the slaphead.![]()
Yup, Fury deserves alot of credit of going out there and thumping Wilder like a bear, or a tiger, or a big ogre.

Absolutely delighted to be proved wrong on my prediction.
I don't think it was a perforated ear drum as some have said - too much blood for that. But Wilder was a shell after the 3rd.
Wilder will take the rematch because it's another great pay day, and a lot more than he will get from anywhere else.
Gypsy King the movie in 2025?

With a maximum bet of £1, hardly reflective of their real odds then. All bookies do crazy things like that for new customersCovfefe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2020, 06:29It was an introductory offer.

wilder did very little , maybe cos fury made it that way .
Cant see why wilder would rematch !

Ffs, they offered it because they didn’t think it was going to happen. Of course it’s to bring customers in.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑23 Feb 2020, 06:34With a maximum bet of £1, hardly reflective of their real odds then. The introductory offers are nothing to do with whether they think it will happen or not. I won about 30 quid as an introductory offer from one bookies in 2014 because they offered something crazy like 30/1 for Brazil to wear yellow in their opening World Cup game, which was about as nailed on as you could get. It’s just to attract new customers, nothing more. So very misleading to suggest that 100/1 was actually what the bookies were offeringCovfefe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2020, 06:39Ffs, they offered it because they didn’t think it was going to happen. Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - 22 February 2020
Class from Fury fought exactly how I thought he wouldnt, got right on top of Wilder, front foot aggressive I thought he was blowing smoke, had him down twice, right hand over the top had Wilder down,Wilder's legs gave way then the next knockdown was a left to the body forced Wilder down again
Fury just looked the boss i never thought in million years he would employ those tactics but fair play he did , Wilder down in rounds 3 and 5, Fury never looked worried about the power, the stoppage looked premature at first glance but watching the replay Wilder looked fvcked, Fury took his game to another level, bigger stronger man all night and better, Wilder was bullied in there and got a beatdown

Yeah. Should have been stopped at the end of the 5th. He was done then.
Kudos to Wilder though. He's a tough brave guy

If you’d said one of the bookies offered it for new customers only with a maximum bet of £1, no-one would have queried itCovfefe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2020, 06:51I specifically said one of the bookies offered it and they did.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑23 Feb 2020, 06:46

It wasn’t remotely misleading. One of the bookies had a bet of 100/1 on Tyson fury by stoppage.
You’re just being a tart about it.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - 22 February 2020
Just watched the fight. Wilder took a hell of a beating but he didnt really look like he wanted to be in there from the start. I think his corner could have pulled him out after the 5th round as it was clear there was an issue in there.
The bleeding from within the ear should have been a concern for Wilders corner and seeked advise from the doctor at ring side as this could have been a very serious injury.
Anyone know the situation of Wilders health after the fight?

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - 22 February 2020
No mention of a burst ear drum in the press conference.
Talk from the Wilder camp was a cut inside the ear that needed a couple of stitches.

For a massive heavy, fury’s body punching is an underrated tool
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - 22 February 2020
Bayliss pissed me off mate, warning Tyson then when Wilder was rocked or looked unsteady after an assault from Tyson, Bayliss would give him plenty of time to recover. Corrupt as fck american ref again goin with whatever the american fighter is decent at or comfortable with ring any bells from 2007?
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II - 22 February 2020
