Ya, let's all get off the Benny Davison bandwagon and hop on the Lee bandwagon! He actually got a winner plus he's easy to like :oo :yay:

Ben seems a likeable guy too, he posted a really classy tweet out congratulating Fury and his trainers this morning. He's obviously not got the technical knowledge of Andy Lee though.

Saw Ben’s tweet and it was classy, I wouldn’t be surprised if they worked together again in the future but it does seem they are friends and maybe they are both fine with the change in circumstances

Said before the fight on a previos post ,, the way to beat Wilder was to take the fight to him , the big change here was with Ben he was instructed to avoid a tear up and box defensivly this camp have said Tyson you took his best , now get out there and give him yours , Ben seems to over anaylize , thinking tactics , ect ect , and forgets that sometimes its just got to come down to the fact its a fight and who wants it more ,,

The trick is knowing the difference Ben does'nt know oit yet because he's in charge of the camp when he should be someones assistant .

I've been impressed with him as a pundit, but you make a really valid point actually come over analysing. As you said, sometimes boxing can be very simple - although I hope that doesn't mean I'm championing a Pepe Correra comeback to corner work!

Always come across as a really laid back likeable fella. I really rate him and can’t think of a better mentality or personality that you’d want in your corner.

Fury with Lee at the Kronk is a serious outfit.

I actually think how Lee carries himself has rubbed off on Tyson , always calm, respectful , never irrational . Top fella .
Tyson seems to have calmed down no end and it can only be good having Lee around him .

I completely understand what you are saying , but I've often wondered if a fighter could take no notice of the directions he's being given from outside the ring and react to what's going on inside it , putting more onus on his own gut feeling ?

The Korobov win was more significant - becoming a world champ.

Has a pundit he comes across very well , likes to talk technical ,, But boxing can and quite often is just a simple case of put that left hook on that chin ,, Now sometimes theres a technical way to do it , and against a fighter like Wilder , you do ned to know technical steps in avoiding his right hand , such has shrugging the shoulder , moving on an angle , ,
But for offensive work its simple , avoid the right hand lamp , him , shorten his distance , hit the body and lamp him some more ,
when inside do the thing ALI was an expert at doing , lean over him use your size , pushing him down , Tyson done it beutifully , has good has Ali used to do it , and it works ,, , it saps strenght , and especielly when used against a guy like Wilder who is used to setting the tempo , when you lean over the man , he has to go down further or rise , , rising takes strenght and hard work , which will tire you quickly , just imagine a 19 stone man pushing you down by the neck ,, if you choose not to fight it , he's altering your breathing pattern , try breathing with 19 stone on your neck and shoulders bending you over , you will get tired quite quickly , Tyson was also smart ,, he kept throwing that right hand wide in a looping fashion , he was aiming for the ear he knew Wilders Equiblium had gone also try getting hit on the back of the neck continuasly .

Then when i was watching it witrh mates , i got frustrated and found myself shouting at the tele ,, for fook sake Tyson straighten the right hand , straighten the right hand , i was sure if he straighened it , he would stop him , he then threw a few straight rights which caught and hurt Wilder ,, over all a masterclass show of boxing which included , good technical skills in defence , and a stuff you lets have a fight attitude in attack ,,

Now if he was still with Ben , he would probably be running away trying to be smooth and technical right till the next morning ,, still fighting in Wilders comfort zone

I still haven't forgiven him for that Smith Ryder scorecard. he shamefully towed the party line in that one.

Fighter can and do take no notice ,, but this is where a good trainer comes into the fold ,, a good trainer will teach his lads to think in the ring right from day one ,, remember my old trainer telling me , you have 20-30 seconds to work it out , i can't do it for you , things change so you have to know how to adapt ,,, Sure you can give advice , hs habits are this that and the other ,, when he does this you do that ,,,, BUT what if he does'nt do it , the fighter has to know himself , he has to think himself , thats what makes some fighters great and some average , great fighters out think there opponent make them make a mistake and boom capitalize on it ..

Now if he was still with Ben , he would probably be running away trying to be smooth and technical right till the next morning ,, still fighting in Wilders comfort zone

Also if i'm perfectly honest ,, i think Ben loves to give these techinical snippets , because he lacks confidence , Oh i know he's a confident young fella on the surface , because he can and often does , give good technical points ,, But i really see this has him just trying to justify himself ,, i always get the impression , its all about self justification ,,, he did do a good job of helping Tyson get his weight down ect ect , he did a good job of instucting Tyson to outbox Wilder in there first one ,,, but every man and his dog knew Tyson was the better boxer ..
Big John had it right ,, he knew all along Tyson was the better boxer so he should come in bigger stronger , and simply , more aggressive this time , so did sugar hill or whatever his name is ,,

It was a good move listening to his dad and moving on ,,, Not to say Bens a bad trainer ,, just saying what i said from day one he was too inexperienced ,, and does'nt relize , sometimes technical does'nt do it , you just have to go out and do it , and know when to box and when to fight .

Big fan of Andy Lee loved it when he won a world title. But the thing if you're a talented boxer you learn from everyone. I saw Rob mackren in Tyson corner for his first fight. I like Ben too . But so happy for Lee too
